Answer:	As long as the fish is bitting and the rod tip is moving, the light will flash/blink red. Once there is no bite it goes back to a steady green. Don't know if the Ice rod tip can hold the light as it might be too small to hold it still. They are great lights for fishing, I have had them for years.
