Question:	I recently upgraded to Verizon gigabit and the modem router they give is lackluster. Does this just connect via Ethernet to the modem
Answer:	Yes. Connect the R7800 to the FiOS router (they don't use modems) by attaching an ethernet cable to one of the FiOS router's LAN ports, and the other end to any of the ports on the R7800. Then set up the R7800 in AP mode, and disable the Wifi of the FiOS router (not critical, but neater). The FiOS router will assign all the IP addresses, and the R7800 will provide wireless services. Works like a charm. You can use the LAN ports of both the FiOS router and the R7800 for wired connections.
Question:	Is this device able to plug and play via ethernet cable from my cable modem to extend my cable wifi range
Answer:	Yes. All of these Netgear routers can either be used as range extenders OR wired into becoming the primary internet source for your home. The latter is actually recommended, if your cable modem is basic and/or sends a weaker than warranted WiFi signal.

Answer:	I don't own this router, but I'd agree with Apollo Grace. Anything that's going to be using this ethernet port will be bottlenecked at 100Mbit maximum. If you're just using this for WiFi only or if you don't mind a maximum speed of 100Mbit on the ethernet port, then buy it. Question:	How would you describe the 5GHz range and performance at a distance
Answer:	5 GHz band can be thrown only so far. It's not meant to be a long throw radio band but a short thrown band that is higher speed. If you want a stronger 5 GHz band for homes that are usually 4,000 sq ft or larger you may not have enough juice with this unit to cover your home unless you can place this in the middle of your house, which isn't always an option. I recommend getting range extenders/repeaters if you want to cover a very large home or property. Place your router near the middle of your home if you can and install extenders on opposite sides of the house. This will give you a wider throw and allow wireless connections well outside of your home if you would like good connection while out in your yard. If you live in a 2,000 sq ft house this should be powerful enough to offer a strong 5 GHz band no matter where you are. If you live in annolde home or highly insulated home then it's hard to say - radio waves diminish more when fired through walls/floors.
Question:	Can this handle multiple xbox ones with open nat
Answer:	Even the cheapest routers are fine upto about 128 sessions. This router does fine on 256 session. Unless you plan on having more than 256 Xboxes connected, this router will be fine. Your internet connection is a different issue.
Question:	Should I buy this router or keep my x8 router
Answer:	The X8 looks like it has more capacity. They're both mu-mimo and the x8 has 6 ports opposed to 4. One of the big reasons I bought this was the operating system (look up Netduma). So far haven't had any issues - even just watching youtube haven't had the buffering and quality issues I had just using my AC1900 modem router. If you're not having issues you may want to stay with what you got, but if you want the benefits of the dashboard and operating system, and have the money, you can give it a try,

Answer:	Yes. Don’t buy the modem/router device combination. Maybe in the future would be ok. I buy routers and modems every two years because their technologies keep improving by a lot. But they have to be separate.

Answer:	The maximum wifi throughtput to a 802.11AC wireless device is approximately 360Mbps for 2x2 MIMO cell phone and 720 for a 4x4 MIMO cell phone. Your Iphone XS is a 2x2 MIMO. under the most ideal conditions expect above 300 Mbps so long as the ISP service speed, modem and router/AP configuration are set up to deliver the higher speeds. The 801.11AX won't increase your hardwares maximum capable speed but it will manage the data flow better regardless if your client is wifi 6 capable or not.

Answer:	If you have over 1200 sq ft and some distance I suggest installing wired access points to help signal. 2.4 ghz signals travel further than 5 ghz but are also prone to interference. I installed a tp link access point with an Ethernet cable run through my attic into my garage so my speed is equal everywhere. Access points are far less problematic than other options such as mesh or extenders
Question:	Has anyone tried it on the verizon network? it says not all bands available with verizon so i'd like to know if it worked out ok or not
Answer:	I just purchase NETGEAR Nighthawk AX12 12-Stream WiFi 6 Router (RAX120) - AX6000. My network is faster than when using my old AC router. The range is also much better and I have no WiFi 6 devices. So is it worth it? YES! Instead of getting around 145 mbs download speeds, I now see around 250 mbs. And I only pay for 200. Go figure.

Answer:	If in my search for a new router I end up deciding to shun Wi-Fi altogether, and ultimately live in a cave, my time spent will have been made worthwhile by this question. Answer:	Are you plugging in this router into another router? If so then you’re getting IP conflicts because plugging in routers to other routers won’t work. Most devices will struggle to connect as the routers constantly clash with each other. If you’re going into a modem and only a modem, check to see if your router needs a setup process to broadcast internet or not. Some don’t just plug and play, others do. Follow steps of a manual or YouTube guide on your hardware to ensure you’ve set it up properly.
