Answer:	Nope just 100mbpsEDIT: if you are still looking for a gigabit wireless router, I have ordered and received an Asus RT-N66U wireless router. It has the same dual band wireless capabilities as the wndr3400, but much better range and built in gigabit switch. No dropped signals in the two weeks I've been using it. Much happier with Asus!
Question:	Maybe a dumb question, but in the system requirements it says it needs "Broadband Internet service and modem with Ethernet connection". Does this mean I need a desktop modem to be hooked up? All I have is a laptop and PS3, will this work
Answer:	If you are only connecting to this device via its Wi-Fi functionality (laptop and PS3), then you don't reality need a "computer' to be connected to it at all except for the very first time to set it up, since you will need to access the setup console via the web to initially create your Wi-Fi (WLAN) network. You have a laptop and it will work just fine to set it up. No "desktop" computer needed specifically. Once you set it up for this first time, the device doesn't need to be connected to a computer at all, again if using for Wi-Fi aka access point. If you will be connecting to this router via its wired connections (4 LAN ports on the back), then you can connect a desktop, laptop, or any other device which has a network card with an RJ-45 connection; almost all computers have one, and video game consoles, and smart TVs.

Question:	I recently upgraded to Verizon gigabit and the modem router they give is lackluster. Does this just connect via Ethernet to the modem
Answer:	Yes. Connect the R7800 to the FiOS router (they don't use modems) by attaching an ethernet cable to one of the FiOS router's LAN ports, and the other end to any of the ports on the R7800. Then set up the R7800 in AP mode, and disable the Wifi of the FiOS router (not critical, but neater). The FiOS router will assign all the IP addresses, and the R7800 will provide wireless services. Works like a charm. You can use the LAN ports of both the FiOS router and the R7800 for wired connections.
Question:	Is this device able to plug and play via ethernet cable from my cable modem to extend my cable wifi range
Answer:	Yes. All of these Netgear routers can either be used as range extenders OR wired into becoming the primary internet source for your home. The latter is actually recommended, if your cable modem is basic and/or sends a weaker than warranted WiFi signal.

Answer:	I don't own this router, but I'd agree with Apollo Grace. Anything that's going to be using this ethernet port will be bottlenecked at 100Mbit maximum. If you're just using this for WiFi only or if you don't mind a maximum speed of 100Mbit on the ethernet port, then buy it. But there are similar products out there for the same price range with Gigabit ports allowing the full WiFi speed to go through the ethernet ports. https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-AC1200-Smart-WiFi-Router/dp/B01IUDUJE0 (TP-Link Archer C1200) for example, and it's cheaper.

Answer:	Check your firmware, including satellites. There was an update (V1.0.4.96_2.0.41) to resolve 2.4 device drops. The MR .chk file is different from the satellite (MS) updates. I didn't see anything for 5ghz issues.
Question:	This model of nighthawk isn't on spectrum's list of approved routers yet. has anyone gotten it to connect with their spectrum internet anyway
Answer:	What you are probably looking at us a modem/router list, not a router list. This does not have a modem, so make sure you have a modem before buying this. If what you have now is s modem/router, do not connect this to that. It takes technical knowledge to make this work using another router. You need to buy a modem, activate that modem with spectrum and then connect this to the modem.
Question:	Can this be wall-mounted or ceiling mounted
Answer:	There is a wall mount that can be purchased separately for this device. I mounted one satellite and placed the other on a flat surface. I’m not fond of the wall mount for it but it works.

Answer:	Are you plugging in this router into another router? If so then you’re getting IP conflicts because plugging in routers to other routers won’t work. Most devices will struggle to connect as the routers constantly clash with each other. If you’re going into a modem and only a modem, check to see if your router needs a setup process to broadcast internet or not. Some don’t just plug and play, others do. Follow steps of a manual or YouTube guide on your hardware to ensure you’ve set it up properly.

Answer:	You should be able to plug in one of the extenders into an outlet in your barn. We did. As long as it's not too, too far from the router. But we know our extenders work through walls, tin roofing, and give us 1 - 2 bars of service even at roughly 600-700ft away across our pasture. We've had it now for almost a year and it's still going strong.

Question:	Can systems like these be linked in a line? I mean instead of the satellite units having to be within range of the router, can I daiseychain them out
Answer:	Regardless if Orbi can be daisy chained with wired cable ... if you can daisy chain routers, why not just set up an AP system. If you can hard wired the AP, there is no need for Orbi and you get much better performance. As to daisy chaining Orbi, yes, you can do that.. but that defeats the purpose of using Orbi. The main technological advantage with Orbi is its ability to have a 3rd backhaul channel through wireless connection. If you can using hard wired... just go with the proven WLAN AP (http://pigtail.azurewebsites.net/tp-link/large-building.PNG)... my organization use it to deploy over 200 wireless devices on the same lan without much overhead degradation.
Question:	Is it 100 - 240 Volts
Answer:	It all depends upon where you buy it. In the USA it is supplied with 115V power supplies one for the router and one each for the Satellites, this is OK of you live in the USA or somewhere where they have 115v power in the homes. If you live in the UK buy them in the UK they come with 240v power supplies, so they are OK for the UK, but come with the UK 3 pin sockets. In Europe theu come with two pin European adaptors suitable for Europes 220 v power. The problem is if you buy it in one country and want to run it in another. Netgear do not sell the power supplies separately. I bought mine in the Black Friday sales in the USA and brought them to the UK. I had to buy power supplies from Germany that were suitable for 240 volts and adaptors for continental to UK sockets. Be careful, you ned to know exactly what the pin size is the pin lengt and the pin inside and pouside diameters. Answer:	As of April/late May 2018, the latest firmware 2.1.4.10 has not only broken ethernet backhaul, but it also takes down your entire network such that no device can connect to the Internet if you leave the ethernet cable connected to satellite. There is no way to disable auto update of the firmware. I have had an open support case for nearly one month and have spent many, many hours in that time trying to troubleshoot. Never had this kind of issue with my Airport Extremes, which is no longer made, so I thought Orbi would be a good replacement given all the positive professional reviews. Answer:	No the Satellite does not have any Ethernet ports. The Router (base) has two gigabit Ethernet ports, one port for WAN (your cable modem) and one port for LAN (connect to a multiport switch, one hard wired device such as your laptop/desktop, a external backup hard drive, etc). I recommend connecting the LAN port to a Netgear 5-Port (model #GS205) or 8-Port (model #GS208) Unmanaged Switch. Each one is very in-expensive at $20 or less on Amazon. It’s a simple plug-and-play, no setup or configuration needed.
Question:	What's the difference between this unit (rbk20w) and the rbk30w? amazon says this is newer, but it is not on netgear's website
Answer:	There is no RBK30W model. Drop the W and there is an RBK30 model. It is identical in almost every specification as the RBK20W, the only difference being that the RBK30 has 4 Gigabit Ethernet Ports (1 WAN and 3 LAN) while the RBK20 has 2 Gigabit Ethernet Ports (1 WAN and 1 LAN). Answer:	Yes ORBI will work fine and it’s secure and fast
Question:	Can the Access points use Ethernet
Answer:	The main hub has a few Ethernet ports and that will give you the speed of Ethernet without comprimising speed.. I’m sure you can plug Ethernet from the satellite hubs but the speed would be the same as WIFI because it’s essentially just another wireless router accessing data wirelessly.. (if you’re speed is 300 mbs or less you wouldn’t have to worry about it anyhow..

Answer:	RBK23 Absolutely! Our Orbi routers and satellites are cross compatible. Please note, however, that the Orbi router can support up to 3 satellites and devices connected to the AC2200 devices may experience slightly slower speeds than those connected to the AC3000 ones (for example).
Question:	The description says good for internet plans upto 200 mbps. So is it really 2.2 gbps or is it 200 mbps
Answer:	Mine easily handles over 200 mbps. However, according to their advertisements, it can handle over 1 gbps. I recommend you check out some Youtube videos of people who do reviews of the Orbi. There are quite a few and they may mention speeds greater than 200 mbps.
