Answer:	I would like to give you some personal advice. Do not buy any type of Netgear extender. They do not work at all. What you need to do is get a expensive router that is the best thing for your Wi-Fi system. Amazon can supply you with that. Or go to Best Buy and test it out. Trust me extenders do not work. You’re throwing your money away.

Answer:	I really don't know as of yet if this device does that or not. I run Linux (Debian 8.6, Linux Mint 18, 17.3, forget Ubuntu-I found too much spyware in that coupled with a wincrap laptop here somewhere) myself and just had not the time to mess with it on these features. It does work well on Linux under Ndiswrapper though I know I can do better with my own driver soon. Just had surgery on my eyes so give me a few weeks as they heal but you can contact me at Kstein_8551 at Yahoo.com. That is the public email address I use mostly. Another winmodem that does well with what you want is Netgear 6210 (1900-3.0usb) but you will have to download the chip source and make the driver for it. Not the netgear one. I just searched Duckduckgo for the chipset ID from lsusb command to get the chipset code. Answer:	The short answer is that 2.4 GHz will generally register as having better signal strength compared to 5GHz. Windows tends to prefer this, and most consumer routers won't signal the endpoint to switch to 5GHz. You can fix this by going to the advanced adapter properties, and seeing if you can set it to "Prefer 5GHz". Alternatively, the WiFi Mode setting can be set to a set that excludes 2.4GHz like 802.11 a/c/n/ac.

Answer:	As shown in the picture appearing with this question, the articulating base of the antenna is a female (internal) threaded item. I have several of these antennas and they're identical in function.

Answer:	I bought mine to repair an accidentally kicked (yeah, does happen) CPU tower. The way my home is laid out, I got full response throughout with the original and the replacement antenna and any possible improvement in range wasn't a question. Sorry--can't help you.

Answer:	If it's anything like the amped repeater/extenders (old REC10 for example) as long as you plug them within range of your router (REC10 recommends at least 70% router signal strength) you can have each extend your router's signal in the direction they are located. That gives you an access point at each (for example in opposite directions from your router, plus extending the wifi around each. In fact, I have extended my router's range by configuring one REC10 to extend another REC10 which is extending the router's original signal. I would be will to bet you can do all of this with this Netgear unit.

Answer:	No. But it can be if your ability to extend diminishes quickly from the router due to walls, floors, tall furniture; etc. That's where wiring to the Extender (set to Access Point mode) helps

Mine is fulfilling my purpose for it by providing a strong and solid WiFi signal to my AmcrestPro HD WiFi camera overlooking the outside of my house. My camera's live video feed is now constant and uninterrupted and my screens on my pc, my Android phone, and my laptop all no longer freeze up while I'm watching the live feed. The NETGEAR N300 WiFi Range Extender (EX2700) is a success for me. As for the bad reviews for it I can only surmise they are from user errors in trying to use this device. • The outdoor antenna need to install on the place where signal is good normally 3-4 bars.Otherwise the product is not helpful.It needs outdoor good signal to improve indoor signal.
• Indoor coverage area is based on available outdoor signal strength.so you need to know the local signal environment.
• The "BTS" port of signal booster needs to be connected to outdoor antenna, and the other port is connected to indoor antenna.
• The distance between outdoor and indoor antennas needs to be more than 10 meters,not to be placed on the same horizontal line.And the outdoor antenna should be "isolated" from the internal antenna, there must be constructive obstacles (e.g.,wall,partitions, etc.) between.
• If the signal bars of the booster LCD is full, but the signal on the phone has not improved at all.This may be self-oscillation phenomenon. (I would imagine several computers at same time) BUT, at least one computer MUST have the sharing capability.
