I'm not sure about its max memory; the highest offered from HP with this rig is 16GB. If you really need to go above that, two factors affect this: processor type and OS level. Since this is an x64 machine, the max memory under Win7 Pro should be 192GB. x86 machines have a max of 4GB no matter the OS; Home versions of Win7 have varying limits from 8 to 16. Careful if you're upgrading to 10 that the machine will still handle the max 192GB; I haven't tried that. |

| Answer: | There is room for a hdd but there is only one hard drive slot. It will accept a standard 3.5 hard drive. So you can replace the ssd with a hard drive, but there is no slot for adding second drive. If you want to add a second drive, there is a free 3rd SATA port on the motherboard. But the power supply has only two SATA power cables (already used for SSD and DVD RW). You could add a second 2.5 inch drive by replacing the SSD drive cage with one that holds two 2.5 inch drives in a single 3.5 inch slot, adding a SATA power splitter cable and adding a SATA data cable. |
