Answer: I purchased this controller for a ml310e gen 8 v2 and it works great with sata drives have it running 8 Samsung 850evo ssd drives in raid 6 admYou will have to buy some 2 mini sas to sata cables to run 8 drives. You can put 4 on each or any amount below and use other connections for later.As far as compatibility with the ml310. Just Google the spec sheet for your server or the controller to be sure.
