Answer:	Same thing happened to me. I tried to connect it to 2 different MacBook Pro laptops and the device kept making grinding noises, unable to read the dvd. The dvd was stuck for over 20 minutes and I kept tapping the top of the device (as instructed) before it finally ejected the disc. Neither MacBook was compatible with this device.
