Answer:	I purchased Verbatim CD-RW discs with 700 MB capacity. It is very important to purchase RW instead of just R type discs. I purchased from Amazon the program "Express Burn Disc Burning" program as I need to Scan many Physical Records into my computer and then burned the information to the Discs. I was successful in copying pictures and records needed to file a claim with VA because of health problems when I was in Viet Nam for 2years, 6 months and 17 days. This also included MRI and X-Rays. I then would burn disc from information on the discs given to me from Hospitals, Doctors and information that I had to copy to a disc. I firmly believe that you need to purchase the CD-RW, Rewritable Discs to use and I firmly believe that you will be able to burn .ISO files using the Express Burn Program. I have tried using discs that are CD-W and it will not copy, pictures or the files that I needed to burn to a disc, however, when using the "Express Burn Program" with CD-RW discs, it will copy your files. Answer:	The mixed answers here might be because of the following behavior: You have to plug the device into the usb port *AFTER* launching the application. If the device is already plugged in then it does not record any sound. However if you plug in the device after the app is running and asking you to plug it in it does record sound and works just fine. I am running OS X Yosemite 10.11.2.

Answer:	It should work with Windows 8 though I only used with Windows 10. If you insert a DVD and a video player does not start up, you may need a player that will recognize the drive. On a recommendation from a friend, I installed "VLC media player" and this app opens when I insert a DVD into the Riodadas player. VLC is a free and open source media player that works with all Windows versions. You can get the player here: https://www.videolan.org/vlc/

Tipes for USB-C CD Drive External

• If your computer could not recognize the external device, please first check the power supply, the drive will need a 3-5V(1.3-2A) output from your computer's usb port.

Question:	does it work with an imac desktop
Answer:	Same thing happened to me. I tried to connect it to 2 different MacBook Pro laptops and the device kept making grinding noises, unable to read the dvd. The dvd was stuck for over 20 minutes and I kept tapping the top of the device (as instructed) before it finally ejected the disc. Neither MacBook was compatible with this device. Waste of time and money. :(

Question:	for some reason i was unable to burn to dvd after processing a vhs tape. there is a mpg output file. how do i get vidbox to burn that mpg file to dvd
Answer:	Directly after recording a file, it should move to the Step 4 screen which will have the Burn DVD option. Clicking that option should allow burning to disc. If the program fails to burn successfully, you should be able to try again as long as you do not close the program.
Question:	I want to convert old vhs tapes to dvd's my old vcr has only white and yellow cable connections.(no red) will this work on my vcr
Answer:	As has been explained, your machine is apparently so old it only recorded monaural sound. That's why just one audio cable coming out. That's okay, but you might have to finagle to get sound on both channels of your digital recording. Sometimes, if you put just one audio source into the left input of the recorder, it will default to put that same audio on both left and right, so when you play it back on your stereo TV you don't just hear sound from one side of the room. If it does not work that way, you can just get an adapter, one plug in and two plugs out, and thus fill up both audio channels. Super simple and cheap and buy it anywhere, at any stereo shop, or here on Amazon no doubt.
Question:	Does it work for mini dv tapes
Answer:	you don't need it for mini dv, they are already digital. You just need to find the correct wire to connect it to your PC and windows will make the video. for my mini dv I needed a fire wire cable, and a slightly older pc that had a firewire jack.
Question:	I just want to know how we move 8mm to dvd - also can we edit
Answer:	You cant really edit the video with this software. This does a pretty good job converting your 8mm tape to digital files. You install the software, plug the component plugs from your 8mm camera/player to the box. Another cable coming out of the box plugs into your laptop via usb. After that, you startup the software follow the simple prompts until you get to a record screen. Hit play on your camera/player and when the video comes up on your computer screen click the record button. This will create an mpeg video file. Once you create the mpeg video file you can always edit your video files in another video editing application.Once you are done editing your video file you can always burn it to a DVD.

Question:	Just want to confirm this drive will play UHD disks as there is one review saying yes and one saying no
Answer:	Yes, after downgrading my firmware to 1.00 MakeMKV like everyone says, it still could not decrypt the disc. I also tried AnyDVD and it couldn't either. The firmware downgrade worked because I successfully performed a rip with DVDFab with no issues whatsoever. Unfortunately, AnyDVD and MakeMKV haven't figured it out yet.
Question:	So is this really window pc compatible? what does it mean by blu-ray software needed
Answer:	No, per the description of the product. The description clearly states that it *reads* 4K UHD. It reads *and writes* all other formats.
