4 best go pro memory card

The GoPro memory card is a crucial component for users of GoPro cameras and other action cameras. These memory cards are typically microSD cards, designed to provide fast and reliable storage for high-definition video recording and capturing high-resolution photos in extreme conditions. Here are some key points about GoPro memory cards:

  1. Compatibility: GoPro cameras generally require microSD cards for storage. It's essential to ensure that the memory card is compatible with your specific GoPro model. The brand recommends using cards from reputable manufacturers like SanDisk, Samsung, Lexar, and Kingston.

  2. Capacity: The choice of memory card capacity depends on your shooting needs. GoPro cameras support various card capacities, but common sizes include 32GB, 64GB, 128GB, and even 256GB or higher. Larger cards are ideal for recording longer videos or capturing more photos without needing to swap cards frequently.

  3. Speed Class: GoPro cameras demand memory cards with a minimum write speed to handle the data rates required for recording high-resolution videos. Look for cards with a Class 10 rating or higher, and consider UHS-I or UHS-II cards for better performance, especially if you're shooting in 4K or capturing high-frame-rate footage.

  4. Video Recording Capabilities: To record in higher video resolutions and frame rates, like 4K and 1080p at 120fps or 240fps, you may need faster memory cards. UHS Speed Class and Video Speed Class ratings can help you identify cards suitable for these requirements.

  5. Durability: GoPro cameras are often used in rugged environments. Therefore, it's advisable to choose memory cards that are shockproof, waterproof, and temperature-resistant. Some memory cards are specifically marketed as "action camera" or "extreme" cards, designed for these conditions.

  6. Storage Management: Consider purchasing multiple memory cards if you plan to shoot for extended periods or during adventures where you can't offload data. Having spare cards can be handy to swap in when one gets full.

  7. Backing Up Data: To avoid data loss, regularly back up your footage from the memory card to a computer or external storage device. Many GoPro users utilize cloud storage services or external hard drives for this purpose.

  8. Formatting: It's advisable to format your memory card in your GoPro camera rather than on a computer to ensure compatibility and optimal performance.

  9. Card Reader: A good quality card reader is essential for transferring data efficiently between your memory card and computer.USB 3.0 or USB-C card readers are faster and more convenient for high-capacity cards.

  10. Firmware Updates: Keep your GoPro camera's firmware up to date, as updates can sometimes improve compatibility with newer memory card models.

In summary, choosing the right memory card for your GoPro camera is crucial to ensure reliable and high-quality video recording and photo capture. Always check the camera's official compatibility list and specifications to make an informed decision.

User questions & answers

Question: Will this be good for the new nintendo 2ds xl? Will ot work
Answer: Yes. 100% it will work. Nintendo only lists up to 32GB as being compatible because only up to 32GB cards come formatted with the FAT32 file system. But you can format up to a 2TB storage device with FAT32. You just need to format it on a PC before use with a program like Win32 Formatter. I have the same model in 128 in my 3DS.
Question: Will this work with the 2017 Fire HD 10 tablet
Answer: Yes, it worked on my amazon fire HD 10. Absolutely love the extra memory. I don’t play games so I can’t speak to that, but i have saved around 300 bite worth of hd video and books! I love and highly recommend. I don’t know why amazon can’t make a memory card specifically for the fire hd 10, but this one works.
Question: Does this work with the samsung Galaxy S
Answer: Yes, Samsung s8 and s8+ aswell as the note 8 can technically read up to 2TB I have use my 2tb external hard drive with it all the time
Question: Does this work on my Nintendo switch
Answer: Works OK on mine once updated but the load times are horrendous. Several minute load times on most games that loaded instantly on my old Sandisk 64gb. I just downloaded Panzer Dragoon Remake today and it literally takes up to 4-minutes to load each 2-minute level. I don't know if I got a bum card or if there is a setting I need to tweek but in the mean time I'm going back to my 64gb card

User questions & answers

Question: is thid capatible with a samsumg s6 phone
Answer: From what I can tell, The Samsung S6 has no expandable memory options. Unless you phone is a special version of some sort this card will not work.
Question: Is this overkill for regular smartphone usage
Answer: I have 128GB storage on my phone, which is ALWAYS getting full, so I finally got a 128GB SD card. I haven't transferred to my card in probably a year, and now it's looking like it was damaged at some point. Two weeks ago, I transferred a bunch of pics/documents, then set up auto save photos to the card instead of phone. Well every item I transferred ended up damaged I guess, I can't see anything but an exclamation point. It's a cheap SD card though. I don't think this size or even the 256 is overkill, I take a lot of pics, screenshots, and download a bunch of documents, so it's not overkill to me. If I had the 256, which I plan on getting, then I would be transferring everything to it as possible, just to keep my phone cleaned up and running smooth. PS, don't go cheap on SD cards!
Question: Does this work with the Nintendo Switch
Answer: I got the 512 gb version for my switch and haven't had any issues. Copied the info from my old 128gb card over to this one and the switch read it right away. (To copy from old card to new, hook the old micro sd card up to a pc, copy the "Nintendo" file on it to the desktop, then copy that file onto the new card.)
Question: what warranty
Answer: The warranty PDf is here: https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/81iSqUnicyS.pdf It is a 10 year limited warranty.
