I'm a Samsung phone user, so I figured why not a Same Brand MicroSD card to go with it. But like everything else I buy on Amazon, I look at reviews before purchasing. I know a wide majority of positive reviews on Amazon are fake too, so it takes a good eye to spot the truth trough this mess. Most negative reviews about the Korean Giant Brand complained about the speed and reliability issues, One review in particular actually prove with a picture, that he received a fake S*****G MicroSD.
Silicone Power is the underdog here, but still a very good reliable brand. The fact that it is lesser known than the other Big name brand, makes it much less at risk of being counterfeit. I had it in my old phone and it never failed on me, so I do trust Silicone Power. I just needed more capacity, so that is why I needed to upgrade to 256gb. All thing considered, my final choice was to stay with Silicone Power.
Note: The listing bullet description on the Silicone Power UHS device incompatibility, is misleading. Only if you use an incompatible device the speed will downgrade. It really is 100MB/s & 80MB/s read & write speeds [U3/V30].
For example: My old 64gb SP MicroSD was a [U1 V10] , Transferring the content from one to the other was much faster than what I was used to. I know, 80mb/s write speed is in the best of condition. But the transfer window was showing speed close to that, I was really impressed.

I don't think this size or even the 256 is overkill, I take a lot of pics, screenshots, and download a bunch of documents, so it's not overkill to me. If I had the 256, which I plan on getting, then I would be transferring everything to it as possible, just to keep my phone cleaned up and running smooth. PS, don't go cheap on SD cards! |
