7 best keyboards with touchpad flies

Keyboards with touchpad "flies" do not typically exist as a recognized category of computer peripherals or accessories. However, it's possible that there might be some confusion or misinterpretation of the term. I'll provide some information based on common keyboard and touchpad-related features:

  1. Keyboards with Built-in Touchpads:

    • Some keyboards are equipped with built-in touchpads or trackpads. These keyboards are often used with desktop computers or home theater PCs (HTPCs) to eliminate the need for a separate mouse.
  2. Touchpad Functionality:

    • Keyboards with integrated touchpads allow you to control the cursor on your computer screen by moving your finger across the touch-sensitive surface. You can typically perform left and right-click functions as well as gestures for scrolling and zooming.
  3. Wireless Connectivity:

    • Many keyboards with touchpads are wireless and connect to your computer via Bluetooth or a USB dongle, providing flexibility in terms of placement and reduced cable clutter.
  4. Compact and All-in-One Design:

    • Keyboards with touchpads are often compact and space-saving, making them suitable for use in living rooms, on coffee tables, or in other scenarios where a full-sized keyboard and separate mouse might be impractical.
  5. Compatibility:

    • These keyboards are generally compatible with various operating systems, including Windows, macOS, and Linux.
  6. Additional Features:

    • Some models may include additional features such as multimedia hotkeys, backlighting, and customizable shortcut keys to enhance user experience.
  7. Gaming Keyboards with Touchpads:

    • In the gaming world, some specialized keyboards come with integrated touchpads or trackpads to provide quick access to in-game controls or as a convenient way to navigate menus while gaming from the couch.
  8. Price Range:

    • The price of keyboards with touchpads can vary widely, depending on factors like brand, build quality, additional features, and wireless connectivity options.

If you're looking for a keyboard with touchpad functionality, it's important to consider your specific needs, such as whether you require a compact design, wireless connectivity, or compatibility with a particular operating system. Be sure to explore available options and read reviews to find a keyboard that suits your requirements.

Apple Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad (Wireless, Rechargable) (US English) - Space Gray

Apple

Based on 8 reviews Check latest price
  • Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad features an extended layout, with document navigation controls for quick scrolling and full-size arrow keys for gaming
  • A scissor mechanism beneath each key allows for increased stability, while optimized key travel and a low profile provide a comfortable and precise typing experience.
  • The numeric keypad is also great for spreadsheets and finance applications.

User questions & answers

Question: are the keys the same as the keys on the macbook pro
Answer: The newer MacBooks have a butterfly mechanism, which provides for very short travel and a firm feel, but which has had problems with dirt getting under the keys and incapacitating the keyboard. Apple may or may not have fixed this with a dirt barrier in the 2018 version. The magic keyboard has a scissor mechanism, which has proven to be reliable, and it has been reengineered for a shorter travel. It takes some getting used to, but I'm really getting to like it. Here's how Apple describes the mechanism: "A scissor mechanism beneath each key allows for increased stability, while optimized key travel and a low profile provide a comfortable and precise typing experience."
Question: Can the magic keyboard and magic mouse be used at the same time with the same MacBook Pro
Answer: Yes, you can pair multiple devices to host system. Just be aware that the more bluetooth devices you pair (especially older ones and new ones at the same time) the bluetooth can lag because it keeps switching the different bluetooth revisions. Normally it's not too bad but every once in a while it will freeze for a moment on my Mac (and in the tech logs it talks about bluetooth connectivity failed to connect, but it clears in a minute. If you have more than one computer or device where you would want to use the keyboard (such Apple TV) they can be paired with multiple devices but you must switch the input or turn bluetooth off (or disable the device) on the one you don't want to use the keyboard at present. This is only an issue if both the laptop & Mac are both turned on at the same time and within bluetooth range of each other.
Question: Does this keyboard have a back light
Answer: It does not have a back light.
Question: is the keyboard Bluetooth
Answer: Yes, but Bluetooth is not strictly mandatory. If you connect this keyboard's recharging cable through to a computer's USB port, the keyboard can still be used on a computer without Bluetooth (such as many Windows desktop PC's). That is also how the keyboard can still be used if the battery dies and needs recharging just before a work deadline. Note the included cable is relatively short, so a USB extension cable would be required for an enduring cable run going all the way behind a desk and down to a computer on the floor.

User questions & answers

Question: Will this work with a Samsung un40eh5300fxza that appears to be running under Linux
Answer: Yes it works with several versions of Linux that I have on several computers. Just plug & play on my machines. You won't get keyboard customizations provided with Logitech software though. Linux recognizes it as an ordinary keyboard on my machines. I guess you can check if the company's website has Linux software for customization settings, but I didn't bother because it works. I use these for computers connected to home entertainment centers, not for my primary computers. So they don't get typed on much because they're used mostly to navigate & use media. Nonetheless, the letters on several keys rubbed off after just a couple moths of very light use. A year later almost half the keys don't have letters on them anymore. I never had letters rub off keyboards before, & I've used dozens of them. I'm typing this on a HP keyboard (my favorite) built in 1999. None of the letters are wore off after extremely heavy usage for almost 2 decades.
Question: Has anyone used this with a Steam link device? Any issues
Answer: I just got this today specifically to try on steam link. Yes, it does work and at a surprising distance. Track pad and keyboard working. So for steam link users :) this keyboard does work.
Question: Has the build quality improved? The original K400 left a lot to be desired in this area (letters rubbing off, mushy keys, creaky flexing body
Answer: Just arrived and used it for 2 days. Met my expectations as a couch keyboard. The trackpad works well and the left-mouse-button key at the top left is rather handy. Build quality is fine given its price, but definitely inferior to the K480 and K800 that I have. Haven't used the original K400, but haven't seen yet (it's been 2 days only) the old problem of letters rubbing off. Keyboard body is reasonably solid. Don't expect this to be your day-to-day working keyboard -- the keys are too soft for a good typing experience.
Question: has anyone used this to connect via bluetooth? i am looking to connect an android smartphone and a surface pro
Answer: It's not bluetooth but In the case of the Surface Pro 3 you can connect the usb transceiver of the keyboard to the usb port of the surface (if you don't have space in the port you can buy an usb hub to connect multiple usb divices including the usb tranceiver of the keyboard). In the case of an Android smartphone also you can use it but you need to buy an OTG cable (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00LN3LQKQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_aV3rxbAXHV1FH) and connect the tranceicer to the android device, it would work (I proved in Galaxy Alpha, S6, Tab S2, Motorolas and works perfect)

With its distinctive Wave design and Constant Curve layout, Logitech Wireless Keyboard K350 guides your hands into just the right position and conforms naturally to your fingers. Plus, the cushioned palm rest helps position hands comfortably and properly on the keyboard. Together, they can help you type with ease and confidence, but without forcing you to re-learn typing on an unfamiliar layout. And your keyboard is always ready when you need it. Thanks to its long battery life (up to three years*), fast and reliable wireless, and the tiny receiver you can plug once and forget, wireless hassles are a thing of the past.

  • Wave design with Constant Curve layout: Curved layout guides hands into just the right position
  • Ease and comfort: Cushioned palm rest makes work easier and fun more fun
  • Longer battery time: This feature gives you up to three years of battery life. (Battery life based on a calculation of an estimated 2 million keystrokes per year in an office environment. User experience may vary.)
  • Logitech Unifying receiver: The tiny Unifying receiver stays in your notebook, so there's no need to unplug it when you move around. And you can easily add compatible wireless mice and keyboards to the same wireless receiver

User questions & answers

Question: Could it work with the Logitech M570 wireless mouse receiver or should I use its own receiver
Answer: Both should be compatible on one receiver. I am using the same receiver with the MX Master.
Question: what is the range
Answer: I tested 14 feet away and it still works, but I cannot see what I typed. Not sure how far you intent to type from. It is like your wireless router, so it depends on your structure.Per Logitech: Advanced 2.4 GHz wireless: So you can work or play in more places-like your comfy couch-the long-range wireless connection virtually eliminates delays, dropouts, and interference. Learn more about Logitech wireless technologies.
Question: I have the MS Natural 4000, and love its comfort, but it is much too noisy. Is the Logitech quiet? Thanks
Answer: It's so noisy if I forgot to mute during a zoom meeting (attendees complaining), that I was forced to find another option. The Logitech Ergo K860 Wireless Ergonomic Keyboard worked out GREAT.
Question: can it be used with a Mac
Answer: It can be USED with a Mac but none of the keys can be customized like you can on Windows. The best you can do is switch the Windows key and the command key but it's not obvious how. You have to go into the normal keyboard set up (not the LCC) and pick unifying device from the dropdown then switch the keys. BE SURE TO GO BACK TO ALL SYSTEM PREFERENCES AND QUIT BEFORE DOING ANYTHING ELSE IN THE PREFERENCES PANEL. If you don't system preferences will crash and the system will become unstable. I actually had my Mac shutdown when I went to the LCC and turned the keyboard on to pair it.
