Answer:	The wi-fi version is useless; the handwritten notes cannot be converted to editable text, so it makes it absolutely useless in my opinion.

Answer:	Yes. Buyer beware. My livescribe 8g echo display died after 30 months. Without a display the pen is useless. When I do interviews I need to be able to glance at the recording device (iPhone, recorder or pen) and know instantly whether it is on and recording. Or if the battery charge is running low. Customer service was polite, understanding, and ultimately useless. Best they would offer was a 30% discount on a full-price 2G. In other words, about what Amazon sells the pen for. If you absolutely need this tool--because it is unique and useful--then plan on buying a replacement every 2 to 3 years. I am flabbergasted at the way the manufacturer is handling this problem.
Question:	What is the difference between this pen and the WiFi version
Answer:	I first had the Echo and then bought the sky wifi. Will is absolutely right. My Echo gave out after years of use (suspect battery failed) so I bought the Wifi versions and it sux in that it will quit recording and not tell you, not completely download sometimes. Bought another Echo.

Answer:	Theoretically you could, but you would probably need cut out the entire page, to make sure the door pattern is complete. I would recommend looking at the other available notebooks, or printing out a page from the PDFs they provide.

Answer:	The pen needs the Livescribe app. There is an Android version of the app available on the Google Play Store. Answer:	Hi! My name is Sara and I am with Beyond Med Shop. Usually, it takes about 10 seconds after turning on the oximeter to get a reading. Please note though that when your blood perfusion level is low or when your hands are cold, the device may need more time to optimize and register an accurate reading. In this instance, we suggest that you warm your hands and fingers before taking the measurements. You can do this simply by rubbing your hands together. Remember your pulse oximeter is measuring your SpO2 and PR based on your blood flow. If the blood flow in your finger drops below a certain level, the pulse oximeter will not be able to function. Answer:	Yes I have and the heart rate is very close. I have several of these and COPD and this ones heart rate at least the one that I have is very good. On the cell phone app which is called Oximeter the oxygen sensor is way off like 5 points high which is critical and I was told that the cell phone oximeter was more designed for sports than for actual health problems! as an example a five point spread could cause major organ damage do to low oxygen!

The Standard edition has been discontinued (and we are, ourselves, out of stock with no intentions to acquire more... and Livescribe themselves no longer make them). The interaction of the Black with the mobile Livescribe+ app is identical, no change there. Answer:	So far, Livescribe 3 smartpen only works with iOS 7 devices. The Livescribe+ app is for iOS only. LS3 uses a newer low power Bluetooth technology called Smart Bluetooth. Question:	As you take notes with the Livescribe pen, does it automatically appear as text (i.e. not in handwriting form) on an appropriate device
Answer:	This pen is mainly about recording handwriting/drawing, i.e., digital ink. The iOS app that works with it does have a feature for translating into text in modest chunks (they call them snippets). Like voice recognition on smartphones, the handwriting recognition is at first kind of amazing -- just the fact that it works at all -- but if you try to translate large amounts of text, most people find that the amount of correction required because of mistranslation makes it easier to just type the notes yourself. (It basically depends on how neat and consistent your handwriting is.) You can set it up so you can watch it translate on your iPad as you write, but I don't find it particularly useful to do it that way. So yeah, it can translate handwriting into text, and it is about as good as it gets for that technology, but it's less useful than you might hope.
Question:	Do you have to use their notebooks or does any paper type work
Answer:	You must use their notebooks. They have a special paper print that the pen recognizes to know which notebook and which page you are on. Otherwise it's still a pen but won't record on anything but Livescribe notebooks.

Answer:	Larry, this is my first Livescribe product, but from what I have read many people seem to feel that the standard Livescribe ink for the LS3 is better than ink of the past. But I have good news, you don't need to use Livescribe ink refills. The LS3 is compatible with and D1 size ink refill. This means you can use ball point or gel ink in many different point sizes. Just search for "D1 ink refill"I have ordered several different brands of ink from JetPens.com. If you put a short 8 inch length of sewing thread in the lanyard loop and fold the thread so the thread ends meet, then you can easily get the thread through the hole and pull the thread until the lanyard Loop comes through. Remove the thread, then loop the lanyard.

Perfusion index is an indication of the pulse strength at the sensor site. The PI's values range from 0.02% for very weak pulse to 20% for extremely strong pulse.

Q: It's not accurate and jumps around on the reading. Is the pulse oximeter defective?

A: When taking a reading with the pulse oximeter, we usually suggest that you wait about 30 seconds for the readings to stabilize. Some people require a longer time for the pulse oximeter to optimize its sensitivity. Following that, please also ensure that you keep your hand still because any movement can cause the device to reset its' reading - hence the erratic readings that you see. Additionally, nail polish and false fingernails may also cause false readings. If possible, switch to an unpolished nail or consider another application site.

Question:	Does this pen work with the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition? The on-board Wacom digitizer pin is a bit on the small side for extended use
Answer:	HI, No, it does not. You need the tablet that goes with this, which is the Wacom Intuos tablet and will run you about $300. The pen only works with the tablet it was made for and not others. It will not even work on earlier generations of the Wacom tablet. I actually have the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and I just tried it. It is not compatible. Hope that helps!
