Answer:	Hi Ricko,If the Tv has an HDMI input available you go from DVD player hdmi out to the TV using an HDMI cable if not RCA audio & video which are yellow for video Red for right side audio & white for left side audio. Look at the back of your directive box if it has an s video out use that for video to the dvd player & RCA audio cable red/white for sound. If the directive box does not have an S video out then use RCA cable.for audio & video.

Answer:	Yes, that is what I use it for exclusively. First I record a program on my dvr, then I play the DVR'd program while recording on the Toshiba. I have a component cable (3 prongs) that runs from my cable box (video, audio L and audio R out) to my Toshiba (video, audio L and audio R in). Works great. This also allows me to control when I start and stop the recording. Sometimes a movie will not last a full two hours, but will stop 10 minutes before to show "coming attractions," etc.

Answer:	If you don't have a cable or satellite receiver and are receiving your tv signals with an antenna, you either have a tv with a digital tuner or a separate digital tuner/ converter box connected to your tv. If you're using a digital converter box from your antenna to the tv, connect the outputs from the digital converter box into the inputs of Toshiba DR430 Recorder and then connect the outputs of the recorder to the TV inputs. You will be connecting from the video (yellow jack), audio (red & white jacks) to the same colored jacks in & out from the Toshiba DVD Recorder to an input on the TV. If you're not using a digital converter box already for your local stations, you will have to buy one to connect to the Toshiba Recorder to record local shows because the recorder does not have a tuner in it. You can buy them for about $30 bucks at Wal-Mart or Radio Shack. I gave you a lot of information but it's easy to setup. They can guide you at Radio Shack. I have one box hooked just this way and it works fine. Hope this was of help.

Answer:	There is NO such thing as HDMI input on a DVD recorder. Part of HDMI is to prevent end users from recording copyrighted material so you will never see an hdMI input on anything but a TV.

Answer:	There are a few different ways that you can connect a cable box to the DMR-ES25S. I've mainly used the composite RCA outputs (red, white, and yellow cables) to connect with. Answer:	The DVD recorder's input connections are RF (coax), composite, and S-video. S-video is analog. If you have S-video output from your computer, and separate audio to the RCA jacks, it probably would work. Haven't tried it. If you're thinking about recording protected signals (say, play a protected DVD on your computer and record on the DVD Recorder), don't expect that would work because the electronics typically disrupt those signals from being recorded.

Answer:	The vent (also called a port/slot port) is used to allow the sound from the back of the subwoofer to escape the enclosure and add to the speakers overall output. A short summary of a ported box sound would be that it is louder than its sealed counterpart around the ports tuning frequency and the sound created is more boomy than the tight punchy response of a sealed box. A drawback to ported boxes is that below the tuning frequency of the enclosure the subwoofer rapidly starts to lose control of itself and will begin to bottom out, clipp violently (makes a clapping sound), and ultimately blow itself because the sub is essentially playing as if their is no box present and the air pressure created throws off the subs motor controls. The reason for the box being divided is that each subwoofer being used has its own dedicated airspace. An easier way to understand the divider in the box is to just think of it as two completely identical boxes that are joined together to make everything look better. The advantage to a divided box is that in the event one of the two subwoofers gets blown the remaining subwoofer is completely unaffected. In a box where both subwoofers are not divided from eachother the blown subwoofer would create resistance for the remaining sub in a couple different ways and ultimately work towards blowing the other sub up as well. The only disadvantage to divided enclosures is the extra space required from them. If you are unsure about what box to buy keep the following in mine. Sealed boxes are much better for sound quality while ported/vented boxes are louder but are less accurate with sound quality and create a boomier sound. If you are new to ported boxes purchase a divided box like this to keep potential accidents from getting worse. Hope this helps

Answer:	Case cannot be opened from the top. The DVD Writer just slides in, I took my DVD from a Toshiba Satellite. It is 9.5mm and had no problem getting to slide in without forcing it. Don't understand why yours doesn't fit. Have all the unnecessary screws and Toshiba face plate been removed? I used the face plate that came with the enclosure. It was jammed inside and had to be careful in prying it out.

Make sure that there is good contact between the SATA connector inside the enclosure and on your slim drive. You can use the face plate if the one from your slim drive does not fit. If the existing face plate on your slim drive is too big, you won't be able to push it back fully in order make a good SATA connection.
