Answer:	We did try it on a jar and a box. Found that it did not work for us. I might suggest you take a picture of the label with a smartphone. The phone has a reader or once you enlarge the printing the pen should work. However the CPen is great for reading letters or larger print then labels. I might also suggest contacting the manufacturer as they may have a suggestion.

Answer:	S/N 2415416040002335 is the number on the back. I bought mine in the US, but it speaks British English. We don't care though, my daughter thinks it's cool. I think it may be possible to download more languages from the company, but we haven't tried it.

Set up the scanner in a more user-friendly way:

1. Prepare two AA batteries for the scanner

3. Set the DPI and format for your scanning copy
4. Put your target(document/photo/receipt/book) on the flat desk

How to level up to the scanning master ?

1. Available to scan 8.5" wide and up to 9.8" high. For example, flexible to scan a book horizontally or vertically, according to the size of book.
2. Scanning in horizontal way would be easier than scanning in vertical way. If you can’t scan steadily, we suggest you try this way.
3. Don’t scan too slow/quick. Don’t need to scan in uniform speed. The red error indication light would show if scan too fast. The scanner would stop scanning if scan too slow. *Just scan in a not fast and slow speed, no need for uniform speed.
4. Don’t press the scanner during scanning. Many novices would try to press the scanner to scan steadily. Use the roller skillfully.

If you meet a situation like this, your scans come out very dark and not clear, the scanner keeps red light or doesn't scan anything, please teach a lesson to this slack boy with extensive calibration process

1. clean scanning glass with included clean cloth
2. put the scanner in a white paper
3. keep pressing the "JPG/PDF Button" , then press "Scan" to start calibration process
4. Once the red light stop flashing, start to scan with smooth sliding until the green light stop flashing.
5. The slack boy become diligent again

Answer:	Yes it can work,but you have to move up / down little act or keep the scanner 1-2 feet back from the item than scan it until you heard the noise....The scaners works very good but also the barcode printing quality is very important to read it...

Question:	I will be selling at a book fair. Do I need special software to print the scanned books to be purchased onto a receipt
Answer:	It depends on what you want on the receipt. If you just want a list of books purchased, their prices, the total amount due, and the date of sale you could easily set up an Excel spreadsheet to find this data when a book is scanned. That is what I'm currently doing to make a list of the equipment I'm taking to a job.
Question:	Does it work with Excel
Answer:	It scans into any program as text, the same as if you typed it on the Keyboard. So Yes you can "Scan" a barcode into Excel, Word or even a text or "Note" document. We just used it in Kona linked to a Portable using Excel with lookup codes to do inventory. Battery under constant usage held up for over 4 hours. Good range.

2 Paring Modes:

• One Scanner-to-One Receiver: One scanner transmits barcode to one usb receiver. Several units can work independently with different computers in the same area. If you want to use them on multiple computers, each with own scanner and receiver. They won't interface with each other during work.

• Max.32 Scanner-to-One Receiver: Multiple scanners transmit barcode to one usb receiver. One usb receiver can connect to max. 32 scanners. Ideal in warehourse when several people are scanning barcode to one computer.

2 Upload modes:

• Instant Upload Mode: Read barcodes & upload it straight to the file you have opened.

• Storage Mode: when using the scanner far away the wireless signal range. Activate storage mode, all scanned barcode will be stored directly into the bulit-in memory of the scanner. You can upload the data to your device when you need it. Internal offline storage supports up to 100000 barcodes.

2 Interface Modes:

• USB HID Mode：No driver and special software needed .For example, you have a software open and you place your cursor wherever you want to enter something and then scan a barcode, the number on the barcode will type out in the cursor's position.
• USB Virtual COM Port： The scanner needs to work with driver and serial software. Expected final behavior is that even if you open up another universal software like notepad, excel，word etc , the scanned information will show up in the window of serial software. Question:	Does this have an inside mesh pocket to secure the Blue-tooth dongle
Answer:	Yes. The pocket is half the length of the case. The pocket will not securely hold the dongle, it will easily slide out of the pocket. I keep the dongle in the tiny zip lock bag it was originally packaged in and then put the whole thing in the mesh pocket. It doesn't slide out that way.
