Answer:	My 2 cents: "I" is the most correct. The connectors have to be compatible on both ends. Power and data should be no problem. I have seen this type of cable TYPICALLY used with external drives, either platter or optical. I have no experience with large format external SSDs (500 GB and up), so I can't address those types; USB 2 would be a waste of the speed attributes of those types of drives, but they could also be USB C connections.
