User questions & answers
Question: | will this work with a mouse connected to a honeywell DVR |
Answer: | Sorry don't know,. I used it to extend the length of my wifi booster did not really needed it. I was told that the extension was not adaptable to my computer and would need the end that would make it compatible. Does your DVR uses a mouse hook up normally./ I bought a DVR but the ubs port was used to charge thing very slow but it did charge them as long as it was left turned on. If I still had it I would have gone with a wireless mouse before wasting $18.00 on an extension. Or just pull the mouse off your computer an see if it works on your DVR at all. I hope something works for you. |
Question: | Can you connect 2 of these together and then to a Kinect to get double the range |

Question: | Has anyone opened up the end and verified what wattage the resistor is |
Answer: | The wattage doesn't matter, because this is very low current, it is a digital signal. If you are trying to build your own, just type that into the internet and any 120 ohm resistor will work.Termination power capacity: 2 wattsTransient absorbing capacity: 500 wattsProbably depends on how many lights are allowed in series by the manufacturer. Get three three three functions in one cable with the Monoprice USB 2.0 Active Extension/Repeater/Hub! You can extend the length of your USB 2.0 cable an additional 32 feet with this cable. It comes with a USB A male connector on one end and a pair of USB A female connectors on the other. When extending USB cables beyond about 15 feet you can suffer from signal strength reduction. The further you go the worse it becomes until you get poor (or no) valid connections. This cable includes a signal amplifier which will boost the signal strength so you can extend further without signal loss. It draws on USB power to provide the boost or can use an optional AC adapter ( PID 2220 not included) for the power it needs. This cable is also serves as a 2-port USB hub. Each of the two USB A female connectors can connect to a discrete USB device and the cable will manage data signals in the same way as any other USB hub. The cable can be used as a passive hub or active using the optional AC power adapter ( not included) connected to the repeater unit allowing the cable to drive power-hungry USB devices such as portable hard drives or for phone charging. The repeater unit has two LEDs one to indicate when an external power source is connected and the other to indicate when a valid USB data link is established with one or both of the hub ports.

- It comes with a USB A male connector on one end and a pair of USB A female connectors on the other
- Extending USB cables beyond about 15 feet you can suffer from signal strength reduction
User questions & answers
Question: | I want to power two usb fans at the same time using one usb outlet. will this get the job done |
Answer: | It should. I run two Oculus Rift sensors with it and it works like a charm. It is a very nice cord. |
Question: | If I connect a USB hub to it (unpowered), and add two controllers + my WiFi adapter, will all work flawlessly and with no signal drop |
Answer: | Only if the existing *unpowered* hub, two controllers, and WiFi adapter already work without this cable in between. Remember, there is already a hub *inside* this cable, and that hub is powered by the source/computer. Your new setup will be cable hub -> other hub -> 3 more things. The cable hub probably doesn't draw much, but if your other hub -> 3 more things setup is already at the power limit for USB this is cable will push it over the edge and the setup won't work. |

Each major revision of the Serial ATA interface specification has doubled the maximum data transfer rate. The latest SATA Revision 3. 0 allows for data transfer speeds of up to 6 Gbps. While the cables for all three revisions appear to be similar and will physically fit into the connectors on all SATA drives and controllers the higher data transfer rate of SATA 6 Gbps requires higher quality materials and closer tolerances than the previous two revisions required. Monoprice SATA 6 Gbps cables are certified to provide maximum speeds from your SATA system up to 6 Gbps when use d with equivalent devices and controllers. Each end of this internal cable features a straight connector with an attached locking latch to ensure that your connections do not come loose due to movement or vibration.

User questions & answers
Question: | Is this actually a sata 3 cable? i've got it connected to a sata 3 port and it's getting similar speeds compared to my hard drive |
Answer: | That’s a very confusing question. Yes it’s a SATA 3 cable. Do you now have a SSD connected that’s as slow as your old HD? Then the problem lies with the mobo, bios settings, or ssd itself. |
Question: | I can't get mine to lock. i take it one pushes the latch down?, but i never get it to click into place. i can still pull the cable off |
Answer: | The little metal latch is pushed down to release the cable, when you insert it, the tab should pop up and lock it in. |
Question: | is this 7 pin with power |
Answer: | This is SATA only, you would need a MOLEX power cable as well. |
Question: | This cable works for a dvd burner |
Answer: | Yes, this is a standard SATA cable that can be used for optical/expansion drives |

User questions & answers
Question: | can I use these to hook up both together at same time meaning my roland boutique series machines |
Answer: | I don't have any roland boutique equipment, but I use the cables to run my keyboard into my MIDI controlled Carousel Pipe Organ, and also to run a SD card reader into my keyboard to play ragtime and stride music. If your equipment had MIDI "in", and MIDI "out" or MIDI "thru", this cable will connect the devices. |
Question: | Not 2-pack as described in description; what are you referring too with “2-pack |
Answer: | This listing is for a single pack though (?). I don't see where it says 2 pack. |
Question: | How many conductors are in the wire? In particular, Is there a shield, and is that shield connected to pin 3 or is it separate (i.e. 6 conductors |
Answer: | To my knowledge, this is a standard 5 pin MIDI cable, with pin 2 being shield, pin 4 being voltage reference line, and pin 5 being data line. Typically in MIDI implementation pins 1 and 3 aren't used as they would be with a 5 pin DIN cable. However, 5 pin DIN cables can be used as MIDI cables, but not the other way around. Considering how this listing indicates this cable as a 5 pin DIN 'connector', it's difficult to say if it has the same pinout as 5 pin DIN, or if it just shares the same connection type. I know for sure it works in situations that involve MIDI though. |
Question: | Does the interconnecting wire populate all 5 pins, i.e., is there a separate conductor for each pin from one end to other |
Answer: | Yes, each pin is interconnected from end to end. The wire works really good. |

External SATA (eSATA) cables are designed to connect external SATA devices to either external SATA ports or internal SATA connectors. Unlike cables for internal applications eSATA cabling must be shielded. The eSATA connectors are keyed differently to prevent the use of internal SATA cables in external applications. While internal SATA connectors have an "L" shaped key eSATA connectors use smaller vertically offset keys. This shielded eSATA cable is certified to perform to SATA 6 Gbps performance standards. Each end is terminated in an eSATA connector for use with external SATA devices and controller ports only. Note that SATA 6 Gbps cables are backwards compatible and can be use d with SATA 3 Gbps and SATA 1. 5 Gbps devices.
