| Answer: | Seems perfectly balanced on the lap. It doesn't rock to the left nor the right. But I always use a shoulder strap to raise the guitar slightly into perfect position for fingerstyle. Two cautions, though. Because of the nature of koa wood, there are no two tops (or fronts) which look alike. So if in your shopping you see photos of a generic example of a koa guitar, the one you purchase won't look like that, regarding the wavy woodgrain of koa. I have three koa guitars now and while the backsides look similar, the tops (fronts) don't. And, on this model while the workmanship, crafting and design are fabulous, the sound is not large, not boomy. However the notes in the sound are perfectly balanced. The projection is good but not like a dreadnought, it can't be because of the size. And the way it plays in fingerstyle and chording is remarkably good. |
