Answer:	If it's a long rage derailleur it should work. It has to be either 11 speed or 12 speed derailleur. Whatever drive train you have.
Question:	My zlink is not activated? Now what
Answer:	The gear ratio range on the 1x12 is slightly less than the 3x8 and will vary slightly based on the front gear ring. Most new bikes come with a 32 tooth front gear however you can get a 30, 34 or something elese depending on your riding style and conditioning. You are losing mostly the high speed gear ratios like 3.75. There are gear ratio charts on the web that you can use to compare your current 3x8 set up against the 1x12 SRAM. I prefer the 1x12 because it has a lower bottom end gear ratio of .69 with my set up. It's great for climbing steep trails and those long grinder trails. The top end/high speet gear ratio is great for where I ride most. The reality is that most people rarely use all the gears on a 3x8 set up and the 1x12 has a pretty big range for nearly any type of trail. When I switched over to a 1x12 from a 3x8 I thought I would miss the wide range of gears...haven't missed it at all.

Answer:	I put over 5000 miles/630K vertical feet climbing (lots of torque on the cassette) mountain trail riding on my original XO1 cassette (two years of use). This was the cassette that came on my new bike. The XO1 cassette was pretty much worn out at this point. I put on a GX cassette in early January 2020 and have over 2000 miles on it now. I went with the GX cassette because it is nearly 1/2 the price of the XO1 and only slightly heavier (about 400 grams). So far it is holding up well. SRAM recommends changing the cassette at 2500 miles which equates to one year riding for me. I consulted with my local bike shop and they encouraged a change out the cassette at 3500 miles; I opted to wait until 5000 miles. I maintain the bike well so that contributed to the longer life. I wash the bike after every ride and lube the chain too. I change the chain every 650 miles or less based on chain stretch measurements to minimize a worn out chain prematurely wearing out the cassette.
