Answer:	Yes it is stand alone, of course you need the wireless receiver and recorder. It's easy to add cameras, I have four. The only downside is the need to change batteries and that depends on how often the cameras are triggered. In my case quite often with the front camera because the leaves on the trees moving trigger the camera thus using the battery. Always have an extra battery or two so you can change quickly!
