User questions & answers

Question: Will this work with denon avr 2112ci receiver
Answer: Yes you can. I only use 2 channel receivers. Not into cinema and avr receivers. I use an external audio source selector. Available on Amazon. Mine handles 3 sources. But selectors with more source inputs are available. I run my sources to the inputs on the selector. Then run the single output to the auxiliary input or in the case of newer receivers, input 1,2 or 3. For my application it works very well. Technically you can connect this eq to your Denon or any other receiver without the in out loop.
Question: what would cause this to make an awfull hissing sound ? right now its useless
Answer: Trying to diagnose sound equipment is not always easy. A hum usually means a bad ground. A his could be a lose connection or a bad cable. First see if the noise is on both sides or just one. Single side noise try changing a cable from the left to the right to see if the hiss changes sides. If it does change does change out the cable. If the his stays then you have a speaker problem. If the his is on both sides check your ground. Hope this helps.
Question: Can I connect this to a yaqin mc-13s
Answer: You should beable to if u use aux cables for it
Question: Can it be connected straight to a 200 watt am/fm home reciever
Answer: Yes it will work very good with all types of recievers And 200 watts that's enuff to do alittle bit on thumppin I also have 200 watt receiver and with ROCKVILLE SOUNDS EVEN GREAT DEPENDED ON UR SPEAKER SIZE I HAVE 2 15 AND 2 SURRENDER NICE

FBQ Feedback Detection System

The FBQ Feedback Detection System is one of the most outstanding characteristcs of Behringer's graphic equalizers. This ingenious circuitry lets you immediately recognize and eliminate feedback frequencies. The FBQ Feedback Detection System uses the LEDs in the frequency band faders to indicate the critical frequencies. This way, what once used to be a labor-intensive search for feedback frequencies is now an activity that even a child could master.

In normal operation, the fader LEDs indicate frequency ranges with the highest energy levels, therefore replacing a separate audio analyzer. If you keep an eye on the LEDs while you play back your music (or during the sound check before a show), you can easily identify those frequency ranges showing the highest energy levels. Similarly, increased signal levels on individual frequency bands indicate a higher likelihood that feedback may occur.

Relay-Controlled Hard Bypass

The so-called hard bypass relays were integrated into the development concept of the FBQ6200 and the FBQ3102. These relays assure that your equalizer is automatically switched into bypass mode in the event of loss of power or faulty power delivery. These fail-safe relays also produce a slight delay during powering up in order to avoid dangerous switch-on thumps.

Balanced Inputs and Outputs

The BEHRINGER ULTRAGRAPH PRO models feature electronic servo-balanced inputs and outputs. The servo function performs automatically, recognizing when unbalanced signals are connected and internally converts the nominal signal level so that no signal level difference between input and output signals occurs (6 dB correction).

Future-Oriented Behringer Technology

To assure the highest possible degree of usability, all Behringer's equipment is manufactured adhering to the highest quality standards in the audio industry, under ISO9000 certified management system.

User questions & answers

Question: These equalizer i use in home o in the car
Answer: Best application is semi-pro or home use. It can be used in a vehicle but you MUST provide a proper power source. In the U.S., that would be 120 Volts AC, 60 Hertz. Inverters are available that could be used for this application. It is also possible to redesign the internal power supply if this is a permanent vehicle installation. This degree of modification is called re-engineering and you have to have quite a bit of expertise in electronics to do it. Also keep in mind this EQ was not designed for the harsh environment of a vehicle..... hot, cold, humidity, vibration, etc.
Question: Can i use this equalizer with my audio sound system
Answer: Also it is not ballanced which means if there are multi amps you have to make sure they are all at equal volume
Question: can you connect a 4 channel power amp to this eq
Answer: Hi Richard,I use the Behringer FBQ6200 for both studio and live applications. this EQ is designed for 3 outputs (right, left and sub). However, there are many ways to accomplish what you want. The answer is yes. What I have done is use channels 1 and 2 for mains (R and L) and used a Y splitter on the sub-out and connect them channels 3 and 4 (mono subs) but the over all sound of the kik and bass guitar is amazing.I have included a link to the EQ's manual. Have fun. http://www.behringer.com/assets/FBQ6200_FBQ3102_FBQ1502_M_EN.pdfSir Julio - SirReale Productions - Santa Rosa, CA

Question: Is there any way to din or turn off the led lights on the levers? they are blinding
Answer: Get some acrylic model paint ( black or color of your choice) get a fine tip brush. Turn the eq upright ( knobs up ) place a small dab of paint on each light, let dry and make another pass. This will help deaden the glare.
Question: Can i use a wire to ground the unit to my reciever to remove the hiss
Answer: You could try. It is also possible the noise is coming from a component connected to your EQ. My EQ makes no audible sound, with all but two inputs being used, and no ground. Good Luck !
Question: I have a sherwood rx 4105 am/fm stereo receiver and a teac cd-p650 compact disc player.will these hook up with this equilizer
Answer: Yes
Question: Is this 220 volts
Answer: No, it's 110 volts. I'm really disappointed with mine. The blue led lights on the sliders are bright enough to light up the room. Also not happy with the performance.

User questions & answers

Question: Can i connect speakers to the equilizer
Answer: Mixer to eq then eq to powered speakers or mixer to eq then eq to amp then amp to unpowered speakers
Question: can this EQ to subwoofer
Answer: Its good i hve 1 single channel but it qorks great..
Question: Would this work to boost the bass up a good bit in my home 2 channel stereo? I like a lot of bass without a subwoofer
Answer: As any equalizer it is just going to help arrange the different frequencies. If you want more bass you should get a subwoofer. What an eq does is re-arrange what power is already there. You could make it sound more bassy by turning down the higher frequencies but that's working backwards. If you want more bass I would suggest using the money to buy a more powerful amplifier. (Or again getting a subwoofer)
Question: Is the output for each channel stereo or mono
Answer: Mono per side. Use both channel for stereo. For few bucks extra I suggest you to get Behringer EQ instead. Amazon always have great price for those EQ.

User questions & answers

Question: does it have 48v phantom for both XLR mic inputs
Answer: No.
Question: I have read this unit takes two racks spaces, albeit it states above it is 5.9 inches, so which is it? Thank you
Answer: Just measured, the height is 3.5 inches.
Question: Is this true?...i have been told that i cannot connect this to a onkyo 737 home theatre receiver because it does not have a tape loop
Answer: Hi Steve. I looked up the Onkyo 737 so I could answer your question intelligently. I need to know how you want to use the EQ before I an give you a good answer. You could use the Zone 2 output to feed the EQ input and then connect the EQ output to another source input, say if you own a tape deck and you want to equalize the response, but I do not see the traditional "tape loop" that would enable you to equalize the front two channels irregardless of which source you pick. So the simple answer is no you can't use it effectively. Sorry.
Question: whay are the in put / out put in each channel are crossing? like. rca has in put and out put on same channel
Answer: RCA is unbalanced, meaning its susceptible to noise problems. XLR (and 1/4 trs - not 1/4 tr) are balanced, and more immune to noise problems picked up in interconnecting audio equipment. Balanced connections use shielded, twisted-pair cable and three-conductor connectors (like XLR or TRS connectors). This noise cancellation is called “Common Mode Rejection.” It's also good for long cable runs. And so XLR and TRS cables are used to transmit balanced audio from one balanced device to another. In an audio rack you might be tempted to use an inexpensive cable like RCA because the cable runs are short. That's your choice, but the professionals use XLR cables for the cleanest sound they can engineer.

User questions & answers

Question: Can the rack "ears" be cut off ? I have a very strict width limit
Answer: Any ears can be cut off, but I would be very careful. If you damage the corners, the integrity of the cabinet is gone.
Question: If using xlr to rca connector will it make noise
Answer: rca connectors are typically noisy on any application.
Question: Does this amp have low frequency’s for body shaking bass
Answer: It is not an amp. You will need an amp between this and your speakers. This adjusts the bass thru treble in 31 frequency bands from 10-20K HZ. I'd suggest Googling graphic equalizer if you are not sure!
Question: Can it be used in a car
Answer: At 19" wide and several inches deep, requiring a/c power, I can't envision a situation where it would be practical to use this product in a car. Also, electrical noise from car electronics would be a factor.

ART HQ231 Graphic Equalizer Two Channel 31 Band Constant Q Filtering Feedback Detection Circuit

ART

Based on 16 reviews Check latest price

Product description

The HQ231 Dual 31-band Graphic EQ is perfect for any live sound application where there is a high feedback potential including monitor mixes, side-fill cabinets or high powered front-of-house mixes situations. The HQ231 features ARTs proprietary FDC Feedback Detection Circuit, with constant Q circuitry capable of delivering a 3 center frequency accuracy. Professional features like LED level metering, selectable 6dB or 12dB slider range, active balanced and unbalanced input output connectors, RFI filters, independent variable Hi Pass low cut and Low Pass high cut filters, variable input level control, passive bypass switch, clip level indicator, ground lift switch, and selectable line voltage switch make it ideal for any professional application or touring system. FDC Feedback Detection Circuit - FDC Feedback Detection Circuitry designed and developed by ART Engineering instantly illuminates an LED on the corresponding EQ band fader with the greatest sustained signal. The LED indicators can immediately show which band corresponds to the feedback frequency, allowing the sound engineer to reduce gain in that band to quickly kill the feedback while having a minimal impact on the sound of the live program material. The FDC also acts as a simple spectrum viewer while the concert proceeds showing where the hot areas are. During system setup and sound check, the FDC may be used to help identify room and sound system resonances. By increasing the gain until feedback, it is easy to identify those frequencies that are likely to be problems. Reducing the gain in these bands helps tune the sound system, and, remove problem areas before the show begins. It also helps increase the gain margin before feedback.

  • FDC Feedback Detection Circuit.
  • Dual Channel 31-Band Graphic Equalizer.
  • Output Level VU Metering on Each Channel.
  • Constant-Q Filtering.
  • Individual High and Low Pass Filters on Each Channel.

Question: are the sliders lighted
Answer: No, this is a single channel equalizer, if you bought 2, one for each channel it would work. But there is a better answer, the ART 341 is dual channel for stereo systems. However it comes with 15 band per channel, 2/3s octave. Better function in my estimation. And provided you have RCA input, mini-plug or 3 prong connections on your amp, going from CD to amp to eq to speakers is easy. This eq is by far the most versatile of the ART eqs.
Question: Can it be used on 220v
Answer: YES
Question: is this for cars or home stereo
Answer: Cables are not included. Cost depends on brand.

User questions & answers

Question: Can this unit be used with a home stereo receiver using 1/4" to rca adapter cords
Answer: It's not an amp. It's a equalizer unit to fine tune music. This unit goes between the head unit and amplifier. Most head units provide 2 volt signal to the amp, this eq will provide 7 volt signal to the amp.
Question: are the cables included with this EQ? If not, how much do they cost
Answer: If I understand your question correctly then yes, it does have a plug to receive hi-level input from your stereo
Question: I received a “three prong vertical” power cord but it does not fit into the back of the unit
Answer: Yes each of the 31 bands represents an octave spanning 20Hz to 20kHz. Never tried to turn off the LEDs. They are not real bright but when they flicker it helps to locate the frequency of the feedback.
Question: I want to know i put sound to equalizer than go to mixer or go to mixer than go to to equalizer
Answer: The HQ231 has XLR, 1/4 TS, and RCA inputs for each channel.
