14 best emb equalizers
EMB equalizers, within the context of car audio and electronics, likely refer to equalizer devices produced by EMB for use in vehicles. Equalizers play a crucial role in shaping and adjusting the frequency response of audio signals, allowing users to fine-tune the sound in their car audio systems. Here are some general features and aspects you might find in EMB equalizers:
Frequency Adjustment:
- EMB equalizers are designed to provide users with the ability to adjust the frequency response of their car audio system. This includes boosting or cutting specific frequency ranges to tailor the sound to individual preferences.
Graphic and Parametric Equalization:
- EMB equalizers may offer both graphic and parametric equalization options. Graphic equalizers typically have preset frequency bands with fixed bandwidths, while parametric equalizers allow more flexibility by providing control over specific frequencies and bandwidths.
Number of Bands:
- The number of bands refers to the individual frequency ranges that the equalizer can adjust.EMB equalizers may come with a varying number of bands, such as 5-band, 7-band, or 10-band, providing users with different levels of control over the audio spectrum.
Subwoofer Control:
- In car audio systems, having control over the low-frequency range is crucial. EMB equalizers may include dedicated controls for subwoofers, allowing users to fine-tune the bass response to suit their preferences.
Input and Output Options:
- EMB equalizers are likely equipped with various input and output options to integrate seamlessly into car audio setups. This includes connections for head units, amplifiers, and speakers.
Built-In Crossovers:
- Some EMB equalizers may include built-in crossovers, allowing users to separate and direct specific frequency ranges to different speakers or subwoofers. This helps in optimizing the performance of the entire audio system.
User Interface and Controls:
- The user interface of EMB equalizers is designed to be user-friendly, with intuitive controls for adjusting frequencies, levels, and other audio parameters. This is particularly important for drivers who need quick and easy access to controls.

Product Highlights: Most equalizers used for live sound mixing will allow you to affect frequencies across a variable frequency range. In general, if you’re trying to tune a sound by emphasizing desirable frequencies or pulling back less important frequencies, then you’ll be better off keeping the bandwidth fairly broad. On the other hand, if you’re trying to notch out hum, tame hiss, or carve out some other unwanted sound, then you’ll preserve your overall sound better by narrowing in on the frequencies you want to remove. Once you get into the world of digital mixers, studio-style fully parametric EQs become more common. These equalizers not only allow you to adjust the center frequencies of the mid bands, but they also allow you to dial in the bandwidth to make precise alterations to your sound, boosting board frequency ranges for added warmth or notching out an annoying resonance at 1.5kHz. While this surgical precision can be incredibly useful, it’s important not to get mired in minutia that can take up time you simply don’t have in live music production. That's why we are introducing our best Spectrum Equalizer for the price. It's an all around EQ's that everybody love. Great Sound! Great Light! User questions & answers
Question: | does it have 48v phantom for both XLR mic inputs |
Answer: | No. |
Question: | I have read this unit takes two racks spaces, albeit it states above it is 5.9 inches, so which is it? Thank you |
Answer: | Just measured, the height is 3.5 inches. |
Question: | Is this true?...i have been told that i cannot connect this to a onkyo 737 home theatre receiver because it does not have a tape loop |
Answer: | Hi Steve. I looked up the Onkyo 737 so I could answer your question intelligently. I need to know how you want to use the EQ before I an give you a good answer. You could use the Zone 2 output to feed the EQ input and then connect the EQ output to another source input, say if you own a tape deck and you want to equalize the response, but I do not see the traditional "tape loop" that would enable you to equalize the front two channels irregardless of which source you pick. So the simple answer is no you can't use it effectively. Sorry. |
Question: | whay are the in put / out put in each channel are crossing? like. rca has in put and out put on same channel |
Answer: | RCA is unbalanced, meaning its susceptible to noise problems. XLR (and 1/4 trs - not 1/4 tr) are balanced, and more immune to noise problems picked up in interconnecting audio equipment. Balanced connections use shielded, twisted-pair cable and three-conductor connectors (like XLR or TRS connectors). This noise cancellation is called âCommon Mode Rejection.â It's also good for long cable runs. And so XLR and TRS cables are used to transmit balanced audio from one balanced device to another. In an audio rack you might be tempted to use an inexpensive cable like RCA because the cable runs are short. That's your choice, but the professionals use XLR cables for the cleanest sound they can engineer. |

User questions & answers
Question: | I want to use on a dedicated subwoofer amp. What is the frequency response of this unit |
Answer: | Frequency response does not matter. This unit is a meter that measures signal strength/level - which is apples and oranges to frequency response. It will work fine with your subwoofer but don't hook it up to the power outputs from the amp - hook it up to the signal going into the power amp. |
Question: | Can you hook xlr to rca(for the stereo receiver)? True probably go just rca ro rca but that wont be as much fun |
Answer: | Yes, XLR is positive, negative and shield. Depending on signal direction. If xlr to rca shield would only connect at xlr. If rca to xlr shield would be connected to rca negative post. When shield is connected to sorce connector only it creates a shield to block interference along the cable. |
Question: | So which 5v power supply is included? (usa |
Answer: | Standard . 5v to 120v |
Question: | Can this be used with a bass amp |
Answer: | Be warned... it is NOT accurate (flat) with regard to bass frequencies. It works down to around 50 Hz, but at 30 Hz response is down and at 20 Hz it's WAY down. Something to be aware of. |

ULTRAGRAPH PRO FBQ1502HD
Professional audio engineers have known for decades that a good EQ makes all the difference in how a performance is perceived. Although multi-band graphic equalizers have been around for a long time, they have changed very little… until now! The ULTRAGRAPH PRO FBQ1502HD takes the graphic equalizer into the realm of high-definiton audio, providing robust features and our proprietary FBQ Feedback Detection System
How Does Equalization Work?
Imagine the audio frequency range as a very wide highway with lots of “lanes”. Each of these lanes represents a specific frequency band.
- The lanes on the left side contain the really low frequency content, mainly bass, bass vocals, and the kick and tom drums
- The middle lanes make up the fundamental zone of most musical instruments and the male and female vocals
- The right-hand lanes have all the highfrequency stuff, such as snare drums, cymbals, higher pitched percussion instruments and the content that adds sizzle to the mix
Ultra-Low Noise Operation
The high-definition FBQ1502HD provides superb, ultra-low noise performance thanks to German engineering, and the use of quality components. 4580 dual operational amplifiers are employed throughout for the utmost signal integrity across the entire audio spectrum. With 15-bands of smooth and precise equalization per channel, the stereo FBQ1502HD adds the finishing professional touch to your recordings and live shows.
Built in Crossover
Speaking of special low-frequency tools, the FBQ1502HD also has a dedicated subwoofer output with an adjustable (30 - 200 Hz) cut-off frequency. Balanced XLR Outs are provided so you can connect to power amps or directly to your active subwoofers, without any additional hardware.

User questions & answers
Question: | Will this work with denon avr 2112ci receiver |
Answer: | Yes you can. I only use 2 channel receivers. Not into cinema and avr receivers. I use an external audio source selector. Available on Amazon. Mine handles 3 sources. But selectors with more source inputs are available. I run my sources to the inputs on the selector. Then run the single output to the auxiliary input or in the case of newer receivers, input 1,2 or 3. For my application it works very well. Technically you can connect this eq to your Denon or any other receiver without the in out loop. |
Question: | what would cause this to make an awfull hissing sound ? right now its useless |
Answer: | Trying to diagnose sound equipment is not always easy. A hum usually means a bad ground. A his could be a lose connection or a bad cable. First see if the noise is on both sides or just one. Single side noise try changing a cable from the left to the right to see if the hiss changes sides. If it does change does change out the cable. If the his stays then you have a speaker problem. If the his is on both sides check your ground. Hope this helps. |
Question: | Can I connect this to a yaqin mc-13s |
Answer: | You should beable to if u use aux cables for it |
Question: | Can it be connected straight to a 200 watt am/fm home reciever |

Question: | Can the rack "ears" be cut off ? I have a very strict width limit |
Answer: | Any ears can be cut off, but I would be very careful. If you damage the corners, the integrity of the cabinet is gone. |
Question: | If using xlr to rca connector will it make noise |
Answer: | rca connectors are typically noisy on any application. |
Question: | Does this amp have low frequency’s for body shaking bass |
Answer: | It is not an amp. You will need an amp between this and your speakers. This adjusts the bass thru treble in 31 frequency bands from 10-20K HZ. I'd suggest Googling graphic equalizer if you are not sure! |
Question: | Can it be used in a car |
Answer: | At 19" wide and several inches deep, requiring a/c power, I can't envision a situation where it would be practical to use this product in a car. Also, electrical noise from car electronics would be a factor. |

Ultra-Compact 9-Band Graphic Equalizer with FBQ
If we all lived in a perfect world, there would be no need for audio equalization. Sound systems would be perfect and would reproduce perfect signals in all their glorious perfection. Also, everyone in that perfect world would like the same amount of bass, midrange and high frequency, and there would be no such thing as feedback. But the world isn't perfect, is it? Even the best sound system can benefit from the use of a good EQ--like the FBQ800.
![]() Even the best sound system can benefit from the use of a good EQ. Click to enlarge. |
![]() 1/4-inch and RCA inputs and outputs. |
![]() Nine steps of graphic EQ. |
How Does it Work?
Imagine the frequency range of the sound you hear as a highway, a very wide one with nine lanes. Each of these "lanes" represents a single octave of the sonic spectrum. The first four lanes, labeled 63 - 500 (Hz) contain the really low frequency sound content, mainly bass, bass vocals, and the kick and tom drums. The three lanes labeled 1 k, 2 k and 4 k (Hz), make up the fundamental zone of most musical instruments and the male and female vocals. 8 k and 16 k cover the frequency range of cymbals, snare drums and higher pitched percussion instruments. The FBQ800 allows you to control the flow of audio traffic in each of these nine lanes. When properly applied, EQ makes it possible to hear all of these frequency ranges equally, thus the term equalization.
Feedback Elimination
When a specific frequency, or range of frequencies, reaches too high a level, feedback occurs--that all-too-familiar squeal or howl you get when the mic is too close to the speaker. Basically, feedback happens when there is so much of a particular frequency that it is picked up by the mic and run through the system again. That's why feedback typically gets louder and louder the longer it's allowed to occur. Needless to say, this kind of feedback is very undesirable.
This is where the FBQ800's Feedback Detection System really works its magic. In this ingenious circuitry, LEDs on the individual faders light up when that frequency band is approaching the danger zone. All you need do is lower the illuminated slider until the LED blinks out--voilá, feedback problem solved! What once required a highly trained ear is now an activity that even a child can master.
Sonic Toolkit
That really is the best way to describe the FBQ800. With its nine frequency bands, you easily fine-tune your sound and instantly eliminate feedback. And each fader can be used to boost or cut the frequency range it controls by as much as 12 dB (and that's a lot!).
Special attention is paid to the low frequency zone. In addition to low frequency faders, the FBQ800 features a Low Cut filter for removing unwanted low frequencies such as fl oor rumble, room resonance, electrical hum, etc. This is especially handy if your system is being used for speech rather than music.
To Boost or to Cut, That is the Question
Raising and lowering specific frequency bands can improve the frequency response of any room's acoustics. For instance, if the room you're in is "bass-heavy," lowering the 63 and 125 Hz faders can help eliminate an overall "boomy" or "muddy" sound. Likewise, gently boosting the 8 and 16 k sliders can add sparkle to a somewhat "dark" mix. Are the vocals getting lost in the mix? Raising the level of the 1 k slider can help bring them out.
It's important to note that raising a single fader level is not always the best solution; it's often better to lower the bands surrounding the frequency you want to bring out, and then boost the overall volume level to achieve better headroom.
Built for Accuracy and Reliability
Speaking of headroom, FBQ800's 6-digit LED Input/Output meters and level control are provided for precise level maintenance. Longterm reliability is ensured, thanks to high-quality illuminated faders and switches, and our ultra low-noise audio operational amplifiers provide outstanding sonic performance. In addition, all Mini Series components may be stacked to create an ultracompact signal processing solution.

User questions & answers
Question: | What type of cables are required to hook this up between an amplifier and yamaha receiver? Much appreciated |
Answer: | Both |
Question: | Can you adjust each channel (left/right) separately |
Answer: | Nope, the only things lit are the little indicator lights for power +/- 12dbs and something else. |
Question: | I see many mention that they use this for helping hearing loss by using this unit with headphones. My question is how do you use this with headphones |
Answer: | They are very clean sounding eqs. |
Question: | does it connect to amplifier |
Answer: | First, this is not a player. This is a tone control with instead of just the normal bass, treble and high, divides it into 31 (from 20HZ to 20KHZ). Also, this model is mono (1 channel). You can get 2 of these or get the stereo model. You still need an amplifier and a player. You hook this up between a like a CD player and your amp. |

Question: | are the sliders lit |
Answer: | Jeff, the Amazon catalog has the wrong image. Image feedback request has been sent to Amazon to fix this issue. This product is the DBX 1231 Dual 31 Band Graphic EQ. Thanks Jeff-Pro Audio Land |
Question: | l want to use this EQ for my center channel on my 5.1 home theater system and the Art 355 for my two front speakers |
Answer: | Yes You can apply either channel of your sources L/R output to the 2131's Channel 1/2 input. It doesn't matter, as long as you keep your signal flow SEPARATED and in series. I never use RCA connectors. This device was primarily designed for Balanced 3 pin audio input &outputs. The use of RCA connectors only minimizes system hum & noise. This defeats the purpose of this devices noise reduction circurty. DBX realizes this. That is why they did not make RCA connections available on this device. 98% of consumer audio systems (home) use RCA connectors not Professionally balanced 3 pin audio connectors. That is the beauty of this device. Don't try to mix apples and oranges. If the connectors are not there they are not meant to be. Hope this helps.n Doc |
Question: | Can this EQ351 be used with a stereo receiver to play records |
Answer: | don't buy it,its to complicated.you need also an amplifier to connect this eq.(is working just like lpf/hpf filter without integrated amplifier )choose just any Clarion cd player, and you will have everithing |
Question: | Would this equalize both channels of a stereo signal from a cd player and then connect to an amplified speaker system so L&R signals are the same |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can this unit be used with a home stereo receiver using 1/4" to rca adapter cords |
Answer: | It's not an amp. It's a equalizer unit to fine tune music. This unit goes between the head unit and amplifier. Most head units provide 2 volt signal to the amp, this eq will provide 7 volt signal to the amp. |
Question: | are the cables included with this EQ? If not, how much do they cost |
Answer: | If I understand your question correctly then yes, it does have a plug to receive hi-level input from your stereo |
Question: | I received a “three prong vertical” power cord but it does not fit into the back of the unit |
Answer: | Yes each of the 31 bands represents an octave spanning 20Hz to 20kHz. Never tried to turn off the LEDs. They are not real bright but when they flicker it helps to locate the frequency of the feedback. |
Question: | I want to know i put sound to equalizer than go to mixer or go to mixer than go to to equalizer |
Answer: | The HQ231 has XLR, 1/4 TS, and RCA inputs for each channel. |

Question: | i dont have rca plugs int he back of my stereo. how i can conect this eq to my stereo thanks |
Answer: | You could probably use a product like this: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07H94D77V/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I use one in a similar application. You would need to add a 3.5mm stereo plug to two RCA cable. |
Question: | I cant get the slide controls to change any kind of frequency. Can you help |
Answer: | There is a button that says EQ , if you do not engage the EQ your in bypass mode and there will be no Equalization . So press that button , but turn the volume to a lower level , because when the the EQ is engaged the volume will bump up . And also make sure your connections are correct, stereo out to EQ in . If your not sure if your hook up is correct refer to you Stereo owners manual. |
Question: | i have a sherwood receiver and yamaha speakers for outside deck, would this eq work for this |
Answer: | Depends upon the inputs and outputs for your receiver. Also depends upon whether your receiver supports an equalizer loop. Also depends upon whether you pipe other sources into your receiver or not. Don't take this equalizer outdoors, of course. |
Question: | How does the spectrum analyzer work |
Answer: | Very pleased....good rich sound |

User questions & answers
Question: | are the sliders lighted |
Answer: | No, this is a single channel equalizer, if you bought 2, one for each channel it would work. But there is a better answer, the ART 341 is dual channel for stereo systems. However it comes with 15 band per channel, 2/3s octave. Better function in my estimation. And provided you have RCA input, mini-plug or 3 prong connections on your amp, going from CD to amp to eq to speakers is easy. This eq is by far the most versatile of the ART eqs. |
Question: | Can it be used on 220v |
Answer: | YES |
Question: | is this for cars or home stereo |
Answer: | Cables are not included. Cost depends on brand. |
