Answer:	Can only be done by Sony ... the battery is not made to be replaced by the consumer (which is true of many, many portable audio players, particularly the higher-end types). I believe the life if the battery from complete discharge to top-up is 500 cycles, so it should last many years before any issues with the battery might become apparent.

If you would like it to be less perminant, stick small rubber spacers under the piece to separate floor from contact with the piece, this will allow you to lean it against the wall without the fear of it falling. Just be smart about it. I'd also recommended felt spacers on the top of the 2 legs on wall-facing side, as the stain removes somewhat easily from contact with the wall. This will mark up and show on your walls if they're coated in light paint.

Answer:	So yes the player is expensive But Sony in this is a bargain considering all the parts are manufactured by Sony in house They are not buying off the shelf parts like capacitors or oscillators or even the DAC’s from a manufacturer who mass produces them Sony designs and test and makes all parts in house. So you end up with a better player thoughtfully designed Unlike astell and kern. The use dacs that are premade and cost wayyyyy less that what astell and kern sell them for. Astell and kerns 3,000 dollar player has dacs that are maybe 50-100 dollars to manufacture but sell them for $$$ in pretty aluminum cases If however your looking for a cheaper solution I’d recommend the hifime S2 dac It runs off your phone battery just make sure to buy the otg cable and then plug your headphones in using the standard 3.5mm jack I own one and it sounds really good. And for about 130 Bucks you can get the dac and cable down load tidal or Qobuz and get amazing quality very affordable Just my 2 cents I hope this helps

The front panel is made of a 14mm, machine-cut solid piece of aluminum, which is fixed to the chassis and has a black anodized coating. The four keys and volume knob are made from aluminum as well. An OLED display gives you track or station information.
