Answer:	The Seller answered this question wrong! Reading the manual which has a typo reads : Operating Temperature -20ºC ~ 60ºC (-4ºC ~ 140ºC) Should read : -20degC to 60degC = (- 4 deg F to 140 deg F ). I live in Anchorage Alaska. I have owned 2 High Speed 1080p Tracking dome cameras. The first lasted over a year then froze when defrosters failed. 2nd cam defrosters failed after 10 months both Cams are rated for -35 deg F. These are rate for -35F. This Foscam wont make Alaska temp @ -4deg F. My defrosters in my Imporx or Sunba Tracking cams (which both brands are basically same Chinese Cameras) burn up and fail after 5 months of very cold weather (20 deg F to -32 deg F) . I have a Sunba high speed dome in backyard (Looks like big smiley face) that has no tracker option and for some reason has lasted over 2 years running 24/7. That is why I am scrutinizing this camera, I wanted one that is rated for -72 deg F, But I am 99.9% shure the seller is wrong answering this question after reading the manual to this camera.

In fact the camera will always use the fastest connection possible and if you use Ethernet (lan as you cal it) WiFi will be turn off automatically with out you looking for a switch by the way there is no switch or settings to turn it off it just will be off or just do not enter the name of your WiFi

Answer:	Take a look at AiHomeGuard (search keyword AiHomeguard at Amazon), an AI based Surveillance Software running on PC. Record detected objects (person, car …) images and videos on PC disk drive as an NVR, sending alerts without false positive. No cloud service is needed.

Answer:	I have an older model Foscam camera, with the Foscam IOS app you can set a motion detection alarm and/or an audio detection alarm, both have their own sensitivity adjustment. Sound picked up by the camera's microphone, such as a dog barking, will trigger an audio alarm.

Answer:	I am not aware of this flaw, but if you use the foscam cloud to install you’re camera the cloud will have access to your cam. If you use the cloud to load your cam, use a temp. Password to load the cam then change the password as soon as you cam is working.

Answer:	Yes. There are several ways to save and playback recorded videos. I use Blue Iris which is a third party program to manage my cameras. It is not free, but it also is not horribly expensive. I also have Foscam VMS. You can designate where the files are stored on these programs. I also have a memory card in each camera and I save the recordings to the memory card so I have it in two places should someone steal my computer.

Answer:	You can use the Foscam Client software name VMS to manage this camera in PC and you can also use the Foscam App in mobile phone.
Question:	Ive always had foscam cameras fail around the 2yr mark, is this a by design feature
Answer:	There are 12 of these cameras that I use - nine are renewed R2 and 3 of them are renewed R4. All the R2s are more than 2 years old including 3 of the R2s that are in unheated spaces year-round. One of the R4s is also in unheated space year-round. So the R2 and R4 have been good in my experience. Any other Foscam models - I have no experience with.
