Question: Will this lens be good for soccer and football when on the sidelines
Answer: This is a subjective question. For the most part, it's not a sports lens. The AF system is not really built to be snappy fast for sports. However, if you are photographing young children, I think it can work, since they are not likely to be as fast as high school aged kids. Also, the limits of the aperture make it hard to use fast shutter speeds without a high ISO, so you will get some noise in the images. If this doesn't bother you then it's not a big deal. If in good light (daylight), then it will be fine so long as you know how to track your subject. For football at night, it's going to be tough. I would look for the bright spots on the field, like where the lights shine the brightest, and try to get photos in those places. Here is how I would set the camera. 1. Tv mode. This lets you control the shutter. Set to 1/500 sec. 2. ISO and aperture are controlled by camera. Make sure ISO is in auto. 3. Set focus to "servo" mode. This makes it so the camera tracks as you hold in the focus. 4. Select a small focus. Depending on your camera, you might have to use just one point. Some will let you choose a small grid. 5. Get focus on your subject and hold the focus to track them as they move around. This will give the STM motor time to find the focus. Shoot when you have the best shot. This is how I shot youth soccer with a SL2/200D and the 55-250mm IS STM. Got plenty of good shots. I'd post them in my review but it is now against Amazon policy to do so. Not sure what happened there, they are just youth league kids playing soccer. If you would like more info about the 55-250mm STM lens, you should check out the review I have on my profile. It covers the pros and cons, offers advice for how to use the lens, and also has suggestions for other lenses that might work for you as well. There are also sample images taken with the lens. Question: Would this newer STM lens work well with my EOS T2i I am using the older EF-S 55-250 now that's about 5 years old and looking for faster focus and sharper images....wondering if maybe the 55-250 IS 2 would work just as well as the STM for me...Thanks
Answer: Great question. Some answers for you... It is a better lens than the older IS II model in the following ways: Better optics for better IQ and contrast. Rear focusing so the front element doesn't rotate. Better IS. STM is better than the DC micro motor; it's faster, more accurate, and nearly silent. The focus isn't as fast as say, USM lenses, but you will notice an improvement. If speed of focus is more important in your case, then you should look into the EF 70-300mm F4-5.6 IS II USM instead. Optically, they have very similar IQ, but the 70-300mm has much snappier focus for stills, and is still silent for video like the STM lens. As to how much a difference you will see on your camera? The T2i is a pretty old camera, and IQ wise think you won't see much of a difference. Either of the suggested lenses will look good on your camera, but you might not see a large difference in overall IQ due to the age of the sensor. I think the advantages are that you will see better contrast, have better focus (which leads to more in focus shots), and if you ever move to a newer camera then you will see a difference in IQ with a newer sensor. If you would like more info about either of the lenses I have suggested, you should check out the reviews I have on my profile. Both reviews cover the pros and cons, offer advice for how to use the lens, and has suggestions/comparisons to other lenses you might have considered. There are also sample images. Question: Hi
Answer: The short answer is yes to both questions. The little bit longer answer... 1. It has image stabilization, and for Canon you can tell what lenses do as they will list "IS" in the description of the lens. On this lens, you have 3.5 stops of IS, which is really great since it has such a long reach. Keep in mind though that IS does nothing to help with a moving subject, only a fast shutter speed can help with that. 2. Your camera can use this lens, as well as all other EF and EF-S lenses. This is one of the 4 lenses I suggest to anyone that is learning photography and wants to expand their kit beyond the lens that came with their camera. If you would like more information about the 55-250mm lens, you should check out the review I have on my profile. It covers the pros and cons, offers advice for how to use the lens, and has suggestions/comparisons to other lenses you may have seen. There are also sample images taken with the lens. User questions & answers

Question: What do the green numbers on the top mean in the slider
Answer: Measurement in feet. You will not go wrong if you purchase this lens. I love it! The clarity is excellent. It takes a while to get the focus exact, but once you work with the lens you will not know how you did not buy this sooner.
Question: Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM or Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM? What distances can you shoot from the subject for each (trying to determine best for my needs
Answer: Closest focusing distance is 0.85m or 2.8 ft. for the 85mm f/1.8 and the closest focusing distance for the 50mm f/1.8 is 1.15 ft. or 0.35m. Depends on your style of shooting but the 85mm f/1.8 it's better for portrait.
Question: Does it come with the lens hood
Answer: No, must be purchased separately. I have understood the ET65III hood is the only that fits on the 85mm f1.8
Question: So many reviews! Can someone semi pro tell me if this focal distance is worth the purchase if you already own the canon 50mm f 1.4? I have a 7D and a full frame 5D and I use the 50mm on both. I am looking to gain that "better bokeh" mainly. Thoughts? Thank you
Answer: This is one of my favorite primes that I own. It not only has a really nice bokeh, and great contrast and color rendering. But it also has a very flattering perspective. It also makes most peoples faces look a bit better. Something about 85mm makes the face a little skinnier, while also compressing the area that is in focus a bit. It's heavier than most other 'Ultrasonic' EF primes. But this just makes it balance well on a 5D, 6D or 7D. Until you step up to L series you will have to deal with a bit of chromatic aberation and vignetting. Though that is a simple task if shooting raw. The 50mm is a bit more natural perspective compared to 85. But you also have to get right up on a subject with it. The 85 lets you get a similar shot from a few more feet away, which makes the subject more comfortable.

User questions & answers

Question: will this lens fit a canon 3ti
Answer: The 90D is weather resistant, but the lens is not. Also, the weather sealing in the 90D isn't quite what it would be in a higher end model. It might survive it caught in the rain, but I would still head for cover. If you need to shoot for extended time in bad conditions it would be wise to invest in a rain cover. They are not expensive and can save your camera from water damage. If you would like more info about the 90D, you should check out the review I have on my profile. It covers the pros and cons, offers advice for how to use the camera, and also has some comparisons to other cameras. There are sample images taken with the camera as well. Question: will this lens fit a canon 2ti
Answer: That depends on the bundle you choose. It is possible to buy the camera on it's on with no lens, or you can get a bundle that comes with the 18-55mm lens. The bundle in the link attached to your question does come with a lens. However, it's not the 18-135mm lens that usually comes with that kind of bundle, it's the 18-55mm. It might be a better idea to get the bundle that has the 18-135mm and then get a different microphone. I would suggest the Rode VideoMicGo. If you would like to have more info on the 90D, you should check out the review I have on my profile. It covers the pros and cons, offers advice for how to use the camera, and also has comparisons to other cameras you may have seen or considered. There are also sample images taken with the camera. Answer: The video creator kit comes with the 18-55mm lens. Not really a great lens, and I am surprised it's not the 18-135mm. I would almost suggest looking into the 80D video creator kit, as it's overall better. 18-135mm lens, RODE microphone, and the power zoom adapter. And right now it's 1300 USD. The 80D is still a great camera, and is great for video, but does not feature 4K if that is your goal. It also does not do 120fps. So if you don't need those things, then maybe you should look into that instead. If you would like more info about either the 90D or 80D, I have reviews for both that you should check out. All my reviews cover the pros and cons, offer advice for how to use the gear, and often have comparisons to other gear as well. I always include sample images taken with the gear too. Here are some links. Isolate the Interesting Part

The eye tends to see the whole rather than the individual parts. It also sees whatís near and not whatís far. By bringing attention to those things missed by the eye, you can create many interesting pictures. It could be the grimace of an athlete, the grill of a classic car, or a girl against a blurred background. Telephoto lenses can also compress images to give dramatic effects. You are limited only by your imagination.

    User questions & answers

Question: Is this camera have touch screen
Answer: 2 lenses. It's a great starter kit.
Question: Does this camera have a built in flash
Answer: It does a decent zoom, but if you want true zoom in or out, I suggest another lens. I only use mine for family photos, etc, and outings, but I may invest in another lens for close and father shots. I have a hummingbird nest on my patio, and I find the basic lens doesn't quite do the job of catching the tiny egg and details, and for distance it only goes so far.
Question: Does this bundle come with an around the neck strap
Answer: Hello Yes you can shoot raw with this camera. Thanks Brendan The Photo Center
Question: Does this camera record for YouTube
Answer: Some people consider the D3400 a better camera than the D3500 due to the elimination of the "Function" button on the front of the camera that was accessible with the photographer's left hand that allows the ISO setting to be changer with the right thumb wheel while looking through the viewfinder. Also the IR remote shutter control was eliminated. I believe from what I read that all this was done to reduce the size (the body is the same as the D5600) and weight of the camera, improve battery life, and reduce manufacturing cost. Nikon does have a free app for your smart phone, SnapBridge App, that allows your smart phone to act as a remote shutter control and can automatically send your pictures (reduced resolution) to your smart phone. So to answer your question - I don't believe the the D3500 is an upgrade or a downgrade to the D3400 just the next in their line of "Beginner" DSLR Cameras.

    Product description

L9) Canon 24-105Mm F/4 L Is Usm Lens. The L-Series Is Canon'S Flagship Professional Lens Range, Representing The Best In Precision-Designed Ef Optics. L-Series Lenses Combine Superior Performance With Superlative Handling, And Are Resistant To Dust And Moisture. The Ef 24-105Mm F/4L Is Usm Features Canon'S Three-Stop Image Stabilizer (Is), Making It Ideal For Handheld Work. Is Permits The Use Of Shutter Speeds Up To Three Stops Slower Than Normal, With No Perceptible Increase In Image Blur From Camera Shake. E7Magnification - Extension Tube EF25 II - ¹ Only compatible at tele.

    From the Manufacturer

Dust and moisture resistant and incorporating Canon's very finest standards of precision optics, the EF 24-105mm f4L IS USM is designed for reportage, event, travel, and celebrity photographers looking for a lightweight and maneuverable lens with minimal image quality compromise.

Complementing the EF 17-40mm f4L USM and EF 70-200mm f4L USM, the lens completes Canon's f4L-series zoom lens range. These lenses are designed for professional photographers requiring a light zoom lens with a fixed aperture throughout the zoom range. For outstanding camera-shake reduction, Image Stabilizer allows shutter speeds of 3 stops slower than would otherwise be possible, with no perceptible increase in image blur.

The L-series is Canon's flagship professional lens range, designed to include outstanding image performance, ultimate operability, and weather resistance. The EF 24-105mm f4L IS USM offers a lightweight alternative to the renowned EF 24-70mm f2.8L USM.

    Image Stabilizer

Image Stabilizer (IS) dramatically reduces image blur caused by camera shake. Gyro sensors detect unwanted vibrations, triggering the corresponding movement of a correcting lens group perpendicular to the optical axis. This alters the light path, returning the image to its correct position on the sensor or film plane.

The 3-stop advantage means that photographers normally shooting a 105mm lens handheld at 1/125 second can obtain a shake free result with a shutter speed as low as 1/15 second, for vastly extended options in low light conditions.

    Superb autofocus

The ring-type USM motor found in the EF 24-105mm f4L IS USM employs ultra-sonic frequency vibrations to drive autofocus with unrivalled speed and near-silent operation. A powerful CPU and improved AF algorithm contribute to speed performance. Good holding torque stops the lens with precision and accuracy, the instant it arrives at the correct focus point and without overshoot. Photographers can choose manual focus instantly and at any time simply by moving the manual focus ring without first having to switch out of autofocus mode.

    Constant f4 aperture from 24 to 105mm

The EF 24-105mm f4L IS USM offers the highest possible optical quality with no change in aperture over the full focal range of the lens. This allows photographers to set exposure at the widest aperture and zoom all the way through to 105mm without having to vary the shutter speed. It is the perfect lens for professional photographers looking for a lightweight and extended zoom alternative to its EF 24-70mm f2.8L USM counterpart. The lens employs an almost perfectly circular barrel aperture, helping create attractive, defocused backgrounds.

    Image quality

To limit lens size and improve image clarity over the total image area, an Ultra-Low Dispersion glass (UD) element is used to eliminate the secondary chromatic aberrations that otherwise reduce sharpness and introduce color fringing. Aspherical lens elements correct spherical aberration for crisp, high-contrast, corner-to-corner quality. By optimizing Super Spectra lens coatings and lens element shaping, Canon's engineers have been effective in suppressing flare and ghosting--more prone to occur with digital cameras due to reflection off the image sensor. By increasing light absorption, coatings reduce reflections off lens element surfaces to deliver crisp, undistorted images with natural color balance.

    EOS system integration

The EF 24-105mm f4L IS USM includes distance metering information, providing compatibility with the E-TTL II flash system of late-model cameras such as the EOS-1D Mark II N and EOS 5D. When used in conjunction with Canon's range of EX Speedlite flash units, the lens passes distance information to the flash algorithm for markedly improved flash exposure metering. To match the weather resistance afforded by EOS-1 professional camera bodies, an O-ring seals the lens against the lens mount and numerous seals around the lens' moving components provide protection against the ingress of dust and moisture.

AF Mode and IS switches have been reshaped, making them less susceptible to being engaged or disengaged accidentally.

The EF 24-105mm f4L IS USM comes with a bayonet mount lens hood EW-83H and soft lens pouch LP1219. In keeping with Canon's Kyosei philosophy of living in harmony with the environment, the lens features only lead-free glass.

    User questions & answers

Question: Is this a good lens for a group of people
Answer: It will; your camera can use all EF and EF-S lenses. While it is a good lens, it will not serve its main purpose on your camera; getting wide angles. This is because the wide angle is destroyed by the 1.6x crop factor on your APS-C camera, as well as the F2.8 aperture which is a big part of why this lens is so costly. It becomes a 25-56mm F4.5 lens, and that is not very wide. I would suggest the EF-S 10-18mm F4.5-5.6 IS STM for wide angles on APS-C. After crop, it is 16-28mm, and that is still pretty wide. If you are interested I have a review of the 10-18mm on my profile, where I discuss the pros and cons of the lens, as well as give advice on how to use an ultra-wide angle lens (they take a little knowledge to use well), and even do an in depth comparison with the 10-22mm that it is often compared to. Alternatively, if you were looking for a standard zoom lens with F2.8, then check out the EF-S 17-55mm F2.8 IS USM. It will work much better than the 16-35mm for that purpose, as it will have much less distortion, and it will be sharper too, since full frame lenses at the wide end tend to lose sharpness on APS-C. If you want to use full frame lenses on your APS-C camera, stick to full frames that are 50mm or longer for your APS-C camera.
Question: Hi, im very intrested in this lens. I would like to know if its not a kit lens and if i well undertstood, is from the Serie L from canon. Thank you
Answer: Yes, it will fit and work just fine. But no, it will no longer be a wide angle zoom lens, it will become what is a pretty standard normal zoom lens. If you are looking for a wide angle zoom lens for your 1.6X crop sensor body, you would want to search out a 10-22mm zoom lens. That would be the equivalent of this lens, but for your crop sensor body. The good news is, the 10-22 mm lens is a lot cheaper. The bad news, it is not as good of a lens, but still quite nice. In case you did not know or were not aware, with a 1.6X crop sensor body, you should multiply the focal length by 1.6, for a zoom you multiply the lower focal length by 1.6 and also the upper focal length by 1.6 and this becomes your new zoom range for that lens on your crop body.
Question: Will it work with a Rebel T5i
Answer: I know this is an older question, but it was never answered and I have a good one... First off, I want to know if you have a full frame camera? If so, then these lenses are good wide angle lenses. If you have an APS-C camera, then the crop factor destroys the intended use of these lenses. If that is the case, look into the EF-S 10-18mm F4.5-5.6 IS STM instead. For more info, check out the review I have on my profile. If you indeed have a full frame camera, then for your intended use I would say the F4L IS is the better option. For car pics you will need to stop down for extra depth of field anyway, so the F2.8 aperture will be mostly wasted. And the IS will allow you to slow your shutter to compensate for the reduced light. Add in that it is sharper and cost less money, and it is pretty clear the choice is the F4L IS on a full frame camera.
Question: Is this a good lens for taking portraits? I sell bears and dolls & need to take crisp photos of these items to sell, the items are about 12" tall
Answer: I'm not familiar with the lens you are using but the 16-35 is pretty fast. I prefer the 24 mm 1.4 for low light though

    User questions & answers

Question: Does this fit canon eos 550D (rebel t2i
Answer: It does not come with a hood. Cannon includes hoods with L-class lenses, only. There are many 3rd party hoods that don't cost much. Tremendous lens. No other zoom lens comes close for a crop body camera. Fablulous all-around, especially for outdoors. Outstanding landscape lens.
Question: Does it fit a canon eos rebel sl
Answer: I think you probably can with an adaptor. My advice would be to go to a camera dealer and see if there is an adapter you can purchase for this lens to fit on your Sony.
Question: Does this fit the Canon T
Answer: This is a good well rounded lens, and will work fine for what you are asking for. I would suggest going to 50mm or 85mm on it and stepping back for full body pictures to avoid the distortion wide angle lenses play on a person's face/body, but you should be fine for large groups of people (I took an image of 45 people with this lens - very wide angle and distortion correction performed in post).
Question: Does it fit on the Canon t6i
Answer: It comes with the standard lens cap that was included with the lens when I purchased it. You can see the cap in one of the photos that are included with my listing for the lens.
