I have both. The 25mm is a better walk-around lens, I think, but as others have said, the 42.5mm is a better portrait lens due to its 85mm equivalent focal length. You can obviously still shoot portraits with the 25mm, but if you plan on doing portraits much and can afford it, it is worth getting the 42.5mm. If you are shooting professionally, or have $$$, definitely consider the f1.2, but for most of us, the f1.7 is fantastic.

Answer:	No. On a micro four thirds camera, 20mm is a perfect normal, meaning it is neither a wide angle lens or a telephoto lens. 25mm is still considered to be in the normal range, but slightly telephoto, so not a perfect normal as this 20mm is.

Answer:	I ordered the $258 version and discovered it is a used lens in "good" condition, though it has dust on the lens. I wonder how a lens with dust on the lens can be judged to be in good condition. I canceled the order.

Answer:	Hi Dennis. There is no stabilization on this lens. It's very fast and we don't have a need for it. Now, if you are shooting videos, yes they will appear a little jittery of course, but for pictures it's perfect.

Answer:	I agree and have noticed that as well. I bought the older version and have been pleased with it. I have also not read complaints about the newer version. It may be as simple as supply and demand or something we are not aware of. You might check review sites just to make sure the version 2 is well rated and then go for it if it's cheaper. The 20MM has been a great lens, I have received compliments about my photo's and 9 times out of 10, it's taken with the 20mm.

Answer:	I don't have a G7 but the sharpness is good across the lens, oven wide open. Some of the reviews say it is sharper stopped down, but I don't see that. It is sharper than the kit lens. Very light and mostly plastic. Worth the small cost for the additional speed.

Answer:	The Meike cinema lens have a M43 lens mount. You will need an adapter to interface between the Meike lens and the Canon body. I've not researched this point before attempting to answer your question, but I doubt anyone makes such an item. There are adapter that allow you to put a Canon EF/ES lens on a Micro4/3 camera body - but probably none to do the reverse. This is because the smaller image circle projected by the M43 lens would probably result in severe vignetting of that image on the larger ASPC or FULL frame sensor of the Canon cameras

Answer:	Depends on the version you buy. The one I bought is an MFT mount and fits micro 4/3 cameras from Olympus and Panasonic.

Answer:	The Panasonic GX85 is a micro 4/3 camera. The Meike 35mm f1.7 that you pointed to is a micro 4/3 lens mount. They Are compatible. Any other Meike 35mm f1.7 that is of any other mount type, i.e. Sony E, Canon M, etc., is Not compatible. "Shoot with no lens attached" or some other similar Menu function name must be activated (i.e. Yes). Then the GX85 should work in Aperture priority, or Manual modes; and should also work in at least one Video setup too. You do have to manually focus, and you do have to manually set the aperture. You should at least use a 49mm UV filter to protect the front lens element. Better yet, use a short to medium length 49mm metal lens hood (you will be able to work in situations where there are bright lights that would otherwise fall on the front lens element that are not even in the picture. The lens on your GX85 will be equivalent to: a 70mm lens on a 35mm film camera, or 70mm lens on a full frame digital camera.
Question:	What's new about this version
Answer:	Yes. The Meike 35mm f1.7 lens on a micro 4/3 Olympus or Panasonic is the equivalent to a 70mm lens on a 35mm full frame camera. I do use a 49mm screw metal hood on that lens that is about 3/4 to 1 inch deep. The hood does not truncate the picture (does not cause vignetting of the lens). The 49mm hood I have also fits a 52mm lens cap (keeps dust off the lens when it is stored).

Question:	My focus ring has stopped working, any advice on how it fix it
Answer:	This lens has a minimum working distance of 12" so you can get pretty close to the subject. I took this photo of a carpenter bee that could be considered an example of macrophotography: https://www.flickr.com/photos/in_vitro/35901386000/in/dateposted/ I am not sure that this lens would be my preferred equipment for macrophotography of extremely small objects, such as scales from a butterfly wing. This sort of macrophotography requires dedicated equipment. You may also want to consider that this lens is very expensive (it is a professional weather-sealed lens). Fuji has a newer lens, the FUJINON LENS XF18-55mmF2.8-4 R LM OIS which is roughly half the price of the XF16-55mm (and much lighter). It has excellent reviews and might suit your purposes better. Photography is all about light. The fact that you would need more light at f4 when the 18-55mm is zoomed out wouldn't be a concern for macrophotography where you are only likely to be taking photos under optimal lighting conditions.

Answer:	Having OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) on any lens comes at the expense of weight, power (battery life), price and complexity. The XF16-55mmF2.8 lens is already large and heavy (655g). The reason is that it has a lot of excellent glass. Would I want more weight, no. Would I want less glass, no. This is a fast, sharp professional grade lens. At the widest angle (16mm) it has an 83.2 degree AoV (Angle of View). Even at the slowest shutter speeds where movement might be apparent, OIS is not tuned for that kind of drift.At the narrowest angle (55mm) it has a 29 degree AoV. This is where OIS might be somewhat effective but, remember, this lens is still f/2.8 at that focal length which is quite fast.I am 68 years old so I value OIS when it really helps (like in the XF50-140mmF2.8 R LM OIS WR).I have had no stabilization issues with the XF16-55mmF2.8 R LM WR.Is it worth it? That is quite subjective. If you need/want a professional level, excellent lens then, yes. Snapshots, occasional hobby, always in "auto mode" then maybe not.

This focal length allows you to get in closer for head and shoulders shots. The bokeh it's absolutely wonderful!

The bokeh and depth of field is phenomenal (as seen in the picture of the hanging lights). While this lens does not have auto-focus, the x-series have features to help you make sure you can manually focus quickly and accurately (such as live digital zoom and sharpness highlighting).

Construction: The lens has a high-quality feeling to it. With its metal construction, it has a nice robust weight feeling, yet still lightweight. The focus and aperture rotate smoothly.

The 50mm focal length is especially great for portraits, and shots between 1-5 m in range (as seen below). There is still clear definition at the extremes of the focal lengths.

When zoomed in to about 50 on the Fuji 18-55, the variable aperture goes to around f4, which is two stops of light *less* than this 50mm lens at f2. A stop of light is doubling or halving the amount of light, so those two stops of light essentially mean I get four times the amount of light at my preferred focal length. This has enormously improved my ability to capture quality images in low light.
