Question:	does it work with the 5d mark III? also does it have an "AF illuminator"? or does it have automatic test flashes to assist with the focus
Answer:	Yes it works on the 5d mark iii as I've used it on one myself, just make sure it is in ettl mode. And yes it has an af illuminator that is red. It shoots red beams in a circular pattern to help with focusing and it works surprisingly well. The only downside to this flash is the way it eats batteries. At full power I maybe get 40 shots, though you won't always be taking it at full power so I'd probably recommend picking up some rechargeable batteries. Just don't get lithium batteries as they are quite bad in all speedlites. They tend to heat up and may even melt or destroy your flash. So your best bet is to either use the regular alkaline batteries which can be costly or use nickel batteries or NiMh, as for a recommendation on which ones to buy, well I'd get the panasonic Eneloops as they are very highly rated among photographers.
