Designed for a pro-video workflow

Question:	I love the camera, but I cannot get it to capture still photos while recording a movie. Can somebody tell me how to do it
Answer:	Hello Harry, Please explain what you mean you cannot get still shots while recording. Do you want the camera to display still photos when you take them and you choose when to continue taking video. Or you cannot find your still photos after you take them, you only see the video. As I explained, possibly not clearly, when you are recording a video and you press the shutter button to take a photo, the camera do not interupt your video recording to display the picture. after completing your video you press the play/review button and then you will see the photos and the video when going in reverse order. if you review from begining you will see video first then your pictures.
Question:	I want to make sure I have everything I need to start shooting on day one. What accessories come in the box with the camera
Answer:	I would suggest at least ordering 55-mm UV filter (acts as lense protector so you should never have to wipe/clean the coatings on your expensive lense or worry about scratches). May want to consider a circular polarizing lens (linear polarizers supposedly don't work on sensor cameras). You will also want to have an SD, SDHC, or SDXC UHS-I (letter I vs an UHS-II interface) memory card that is at least Class 10 (C with a 10 in it), UHS-1 (number 1) or UHS-3 speed class which is U with a 1 or 3 in it. I suggest at least 16 GB, with 32 GB being better. I like videos, so I got 64 GB. A case to protect your camera would be nice. I also favor a better shoulder strap and a hand strap grip. One end of the hand strap should screw into the tripod mount and supply its own tripod mount hole to allow mounting to tripod without removing the strap.

Answer:	As there are a number of components that affect how the camera shoots, I'm not sure why this would happen. Go into you menu select Drive Mode and make sure you're on Single Shooting. Select one of the Scene Modes like Landscape and see if the camera shoots. The very best thing you can do is purchase the book "Photographer's Guide to the Sony DSC-RX10IV", by Alexander White for about $30 on Amazon. You will find this book is a necessary component to successfully use this camera. For example, on page 14, White recommends is simple detail how to initially set the camera up for basic photography, no frills. If you had the book, you could set your camera up to this formula and eliminate the possibility of a software issue.

Question:	How many pics can you take on a single charge
Answer:	While its probably not the best camera for macro photography, you can get some surprisingly good close up shots of things like flowers, bugs, butterflies, etc. by using the zoom.

Answer:	I got mine Focus Camera via Amazon - it does have an American Warranty - I was able to register it through Sony USA. In fact mine had an internal battery issue and Focus replaced it.

Answer:	One battery is Sony which charges through port on camera, two extras are not OEM, and charger is supplied to charge these two. Likely you can charge Sony battery with this charger, but I don't since it not an OEM charger.

Answer:	I don't know why it says that. The optical zoom goes from 24mm to 600mm (35mm format equivalent). That's 25:1. I will say that we have been very happy with the camera. We've had it for over 2 years. It has survived a dunking in an Arizona stream (it did take some time to dry out and work again), a drop off an airplane wing onto a paved ramp, and lots of use in hot and wet conditions. Pictures have been great! ..and it works well for photographing aircraft and wild animals. It's nice not having to lug around a bag with multiple lenses.

Answer:	Hi, when trying to download or import picture files from this camera to your computer, first is to connect the supplied USB cable from this camera to your computer. If you are using Windows computer, an AutoPlay Wizard will appear on the screen and click Open folder to view files - OK - DCIM then copy the desired images to the computer. If using Mac computer, after connecting the camera to your Mac computer. Double-click the newly recognized icon on the desktop - the folder in which the image you want to import is stored. Enhanced Fast Hybrid auto focus combines speedy phase-detection AF with highly accurate contrast-detection AF. Fast Hybrid AF has been accelerated through a new Spatial Object Detection algorithm, to achieve among the fastest autofocusing performance of any camera (0.06 second). First, 179 densely placed focal plane phase-detection AF points swiftly and efficiently move the lens to bring the subject into focus. Then contrast-detection AF with wide AF coverage fine-tunes the focusing in the blink of an eye.
