13 best 8x32 binoculars
8x32 binoculars are a specific type of binoculars commonly used for various outdoor activities, including birdwatching, hiking, sports events, and general wildlife observation. Here are some key features and considerations associated with 8x32 binoculars:
Magnification and Objective Lens Diameter:
- The "8x" in 8x32 indicates the magnification power, meaning that objects will appear eight times closer than they would to the naked eye. The "32" refers to the diameter of the objective lenses in millimeters. In this case, the objective lenses are 32mm in diameter.
Compact and Lightweight:
- 8x32 binoculars are considered compact and lightweight, making them suitable for activities where portability is essential. They are often preferred by users who want a balance between magnification and portability.
Field of View:
- The field of view is the width of the area visible through the binoculars. A wider field of view is generally beneficial for tracking moving objects or observing panoramic scenes.
Optical Coatings:
- Binoculars often come with various optical coatings to enhance image quality. Fully multi-coated lenses reduce glare, improve contrast, and enhance light transmission.
Waterproof and Fogproof:
- Higher-quality 8x32 binoculars may be waterproof and fogproof, making them suitable for use in various weather conditions. This is especially important for outdoor enthusiasts who may encounter rain or changes in temperature.
Close Focus Distance:
- The close focus distance indicates how close you can bring the binoculars to an object and still maintain a clear focus. This can be important for observing nearby subjects, such as butterflies or flowers.
Eye Relief:
- Eye relief is the distance from the eyepiece to your eye at which the entire field of view is visible. This is particularly relevant for individuals who wear glasses, as longer eye relief allows for comfortable viewing with glasses on.
Twist-up Eyecups:
- Twist-up eyecups allow users to adjust the eye relief and customize the viewing experience, whether they wear glasses or not.
Durability:
- The build quality and materials used in the construction of 8x32 binoculars affect their durability. High-quality materials, such as magnesium alloy, are often used to create robust yet lightweight binoculars.
Price Range:
- Prices for 8x32 binoculars can vary based on the brand, build quality, and additional features. Higher-end models may offer more advanced optics and construction.
When choosing 8x32 binoculars, it's essential to consider your specific needs, such as the intended use, the level of magnification required, and any specific features that may enhance the overall viewing experience.Reading user reviews and testing the binoculars in person, if possible, can help you make an informed decision.

Diamondback HD Roof Prism Binoculars
The Diamondback HD smashes the scale of price vs performance, delivering a rock-solid optic that optically punches high above its class.
Adjust Eyecups & IPD
The eyecups on the Diamondback HD binocular twist up and down so any viewer can see the full field and enjoy comfortable viewing—with or without eyeglasses. When not using eyeglasses or sunglasses, keep the eyecups fully extended. For the best viewing when wearing glasses, twist eyecups down.
The interpupillary distance (IPD) is the distance between the center of your left and right pupils. Match the IPD of your eyes and your binocular by rotating the barrels in or out until you see a single image free of shading.
Focus Your Binocular
Use the center focus and diopter to adjust for vision differences in each eye. Choose an object about 20 yards away and perform this two-step process:
- Close your right eye or cover the right objective lens with your hand. Look at the object with your left eye and adjust the center focus dial until the image is in focus.
- Close your left eye or cover the left objective lens with your hand and rotate the ring until the object is in focus.
Neck Strap
Attach the padded neck strap in these three simple steps.
- Push a few inches of the strap through the strap attachment on the binocular.
- Hold the buckle and thread the end of the strap through the buckle.
- Adjust the overall length, then pull tight until strap secured within the buckle.
Lens Care
In order to enjoy the best views through your binocular, take time to regularly clean the exterior lenses:
- Remove any dust or grit from lenses before wiping. Use a can of pressurized air, soft camel hair brush, or an acrylic optical brush.
- Clear lenses of smudges, fingerprints, or eyelash oil. Fog the lenses with your own breath, then use a nonabrasive lens cloth to clean the lenses.

User questions & answers
Question: | Does anyone know the difference between this binocular and the one that sells for $58 by the same maker |
Answer: | Don't see a binocular listed at $58 on Amazon. If the questioner could give the name and number, (e.g., Celestron 7332 Nature DX 8X42), I'll take a stab at an answer. |
Question: | Is this a good bin for star gazing and looking at the moon |
Answer: | For holding with hands better than a x50 but not as good as a x35 or x25. If you have a mount a x50 or x60 would be better. These binoculars are better suited for bird watching where star gazing is a secondary function. |
Question: | Which is better for the stadium, the 8x42 or the 10x |
Answer: | Most 10x42 binoculars have a field of view of about 300 feet at 1000 yards. This means you just need to be over half a mile from the field and you will be able to see everything unfolding on the field, and it will appear much closer than if you looked at it from a 1000 yards with your naked eye. |
Question: | For beginning birdwatchers, is the 8x42 or the 10x42 better |
Answer: | 8x42 until the amateur birder becomes more proficient in identifying birds and his/her use of bins. I used 10x50 in my start of the past time, and then switched to 10x42. I also use 12x56 bins since they serve better for long distant viewing and identification. |

User questions & answers
Question: | How far can you see with these (i.e. 5 miles/10 miles |
Answer: | You can see the Moon and Saturn, and stars. How far can you see a specific item with sufficient definition to identify it? Determine how far you can do so with the naked eye and multiply by the binocular's magnifivation, e.g., if you can identify a person in a crowd at 100 yards easily, you will be able to do so equally well at 1000 yards with a 10x binocular. A bird at 50 yards will appear through the binoculars as it was 5 yards away. |
Question: | Does it come with a case and carry strap |
Answer: | Yes it does. It is a soft case. |
Question: | Do these work with eye glasses or do I need to remove my glasses to look through them |
Answer: | Usually eye relief of 11mm or more works good for people with glasses. This one has 17mm eye relief. So this one should be okay. Again, this is theoretical and personal comfort needs to be taken into account. |
Question: | What is the difference between 8x42 & 10x |
Answer: | 10x magnification versus 8x magnification. If you're bird-watching, hunting, etc., 10x is better. If you're watching a football game, needing low light capability, or genersl-purpose observation, e.g., standing watch on a ship 8x is better. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does it have night vision |
Answer: | The right side lens has a diopter adjustment if that is what you are referring to as "focus relief". The eye relief is quite good on these as well. Unless you are near legal blind level nearsighted, you shouldn't have any problems. |
Question: | Do the 8 x 21 size come with a carry case? Thanks |
Answer: | 10 feet |
Question: | Do these work well in low lighting |
Answer: | Fogproof binoculars are sealed and purged internally to prevent moisture from entering. Fogging may render a binocular useless. To prevent this, fog-proof binoculars are purged of air and filled with dry nitrogen or argon that does not condense on internal surfaces during rapid temperature changes or extremes. |
Question: | Is it normal for view in one eye to appear crystal clear and the other very blurry at the same time even if I have almost 20-20 vision for both eyes |
Answer: | They are waterproof and fogproof. |

User questions & answers
Question: | should i buy this or the nikon trailblazer 10x25 lifetime warranty |
Answer: | I am not a big fan of X 25. Just does not let in enough light for my needs. So I went with the x32 . I just wanted a knock around that was not too compacted. But you get what you pay for. These Wingspan are Ok, more substantial with better view than the smaller nikon 10x25. Nikon lens' are better but still too small. Trade off. |
Question: | Does it come with a case |
Answer: | Yes.... Nice case. The strap is not too nice. There's a very nice one for sale on Amazon for 7 or 8 bucks. |
Question: | Do these work well with children |
Answer: | Good size for kids and anything smaller than 32 seems to make it difficult for them to find the object. Bigger sizes make the binoculars themselves heavy. I like these and would recommend you give kids lots of instructions and practice. |
Question: | I'd be takign this out on a stand up paddle board on the ocean. Are these waterproof |
Answer: | You don't want to submerge them. They will stand up to fresh water splashes but not full out dunks. I'm comfortable taking them in a kayak but not on my board. |

User questions & answers
Question: | How do you attach to apple iphone xr |
Answer: | I have no idea. I dont have an iPhone XR. And i never tried hooking it to the.binoculars. |
Question: | Are these fairly lightweight? I’m looking for a pair to take traveling via airplane etc and don’t want to be weighed down |
Answer: | Shipping weight (including box) is 1.5 pounds. This would make them lighter than traveling with your iPad/tablet. Just purchased these so I can travel with these on safari later this year |
Question: | Will this work for star gazing |
Answer: | Certainly the clarity of binoculars is what is key for star gazing, as well as other outdoor endeavors. These would be fine for basic star gazing, though they wouldn't have the same clarity as an expensive, top-level pair of binoculars. They would be significantly better than an entry level, cheap pair of $20 binoculars. Remember that the magnification is only 8X, which for star gazing is not very powerful. For star gazing, the best tool would probably be a telescope on a tripod, both because of the higher magnification and the stability a tripod provides. |
Question: | does the attachment work on Android phones ie. Samsung and which model |
Answer: | It worked on Samsung s9. |
Product features
Diopter adjustment knob
To counteract any differences in the vision between your right and left eyes, these wayfarer binoculars have a diopter adjustment that enables you to set the focus of one side of the binocular independently to the other.
Turn-and-slide eyecups
Turn-and-slide eyecups allow users to adjust the eye-relief for a custom fit providing a full field of view and maximum comfort during extended periods of use.
Large central focus wheel
The slip-resistant textured grip is applied to the center focus wheel which will come in handy when attempting fine focus adjustments while wearing gloves or with wet hands.
Fully multi-coated optics
Fully multi-coated lenses are used, this means that all air-to-glass surfaces have received multiple layers of anti-reflective coatings. This has the effect of increasing the amount of light transmitted compared to cheaper optics that only use multi-coated or just coated lenses and results in a brighter image and therefore binoculars that perform better in low light.
Premium optics for most outdoor activities
The wayfarer features BaK-4 roof prisms, and anti-reflection fully multi-coated optics to produce a versatile and capable optic that produces bright and clear high-contrast images with true color rendition and virtually no color-fringing. These optical features help to offset the relatively small 32mm objectives and help to boost its low-light performance. This combination of optics and objectives make the wayfarer ideally suited for most outdoor activities from travel, to birding, to sporting events!
Sturdy body, durable enough
Complementing the optical performance are construction details that make the binocular durable and comfortable to use. The chassis is made from a polycarbonate that is impact and corrosion-resistant. It is also temperature-resistant, so the optical tubes won't expand and contract with temperature fluctuation, which, over time, can cause the optics to move out of collimation; preventing the binocular from being able to achieve sharp focus.
Great accessory record your travel
The wayfarer binoculars come with many useful accessories, include a package box, a carrying case, a case strap, a neck strap, a cleaning cloth, an English manual, an eyepiece lens cover, two objective lens covers and a phone adapter which can compatible with all brands of mobile phones to record your wonderful journey. It is so convenient to carry out and capture wonderful images to share with your friends.

User questions & answers
Question: | Are the eye piece on the B3 8x30 the same size as the B |
Answer: | No, they are smaller in diameter and in height. |
Question: | Is this made in usa |
Answer: | I was told they were assembled in the US with Japanese lenses but they have Japan stamped on a little corner on the body. |
Question: | How is the 8x30 objective lens compared to 8x42? Does the light gathering suffer compared to 42's? My primary use will be for 3D archery and hunting |
Answer: | 42 mm will bring in more light than 30 mm. However, the glass quality of the B3 is a higher grade than the C1. The trade-off on a 30 mm verse of 42 mm is weight, and some of this can be countered by improved glass quality |

Crossfire HD Roof Prism Binoculars
You know what they say about people who assume you can't get HD optics, rugged performance and high end form-factor in a value-price binocular? They clearly haven't checked out the Crossfire HD. Add in the included GlassPak binocular harness for quick optic deployment in the field and superior protection and comfort - The Crossfire HD truly is a rare find.
Adjust Eyecups & IPD
The eyecups on the Crossfire HD binocular twist up and down so any viewer can see the full field and enjoy comfortable viewing—with or without eyeglasses. When not using eyeglasses or sunglasses, keep the eyecups fully extended. For the best viewing when wearing glasses, twist eyecups down.
The interpupillary distance (IPD) is the distance between the center of your left and right pupils. Match the IPD of your eyes and your binocular by rotating the barrels in or out until you see a single image free of shading
Focus Binoculars
GlassPak Binocular Harness
The GlassPak Binocular Harness stores and protects your binoculars while keeping them close at hand for quick deployment. Tethers attach to your binocular for added security against accidental drops while the fully adjustable straps create a comfortable fit. Follow these steps to attach the binocular tether straps.
- Thread the wide end of the binocular tether straps through the harness strap buckles.
- Size to fit by adjusting the one-size-fits-all harness strap.
- Thread the binocular tether straps through the strap attachments on binocular.
- Thread the binocular tether straps back through the tether strap buckles to secure.

User questions & answers
Question: | Anyone having a problem with the focus dial creeking when you focus in and out? Had it for about a week and just noticed it |
Answer: | Never had a problem. We have owned 2 for many years. |
Question: | Is this suitable for sky gazing/ astronomy? Thank you |
Answer: | I would say...a qualified "yes." You are going to have a nice wide field-of-view and sharp focus. The 40mm objectives are not going to allow a huge amount of light gathering but you will have portability and that counts for a lot - a light, sharp and accurate optic is more useful than a large and bulky choice. Even if that means giving up some "reach." |
Question: | does this set of binocs have a separate focus for one eye, or is it a one step focus on a central dial |
Answer: | Main central focus with dioptic adjustment for the right eyepiece. |
Question: | with such a large field of view, is edge sharpness an issue with these |
Answer: | I have not found edge sharpness to be an issue. These binoculars have worked well for me. |
