Answer:	I only use my hands to snell hooks no matter what size. If they are too small buy a pair of 3X magnification reading glasses to bring the process to your eyes better. I just used the vice for tying sea bass rigs and porgy rigs with some fashaboo and one of the florescent colored ( Pink or Lime Green) to give the dropper loops more pizzazz... I hope this helps....

Answer:	The spring on the vise is used to hold material out of the way while you are tying other material onto the hook. For example, if you are tying a wooly bugger, you can tie in the hackle and place the end of the hackle in the spring while you tie in the chenille for the body.

Answer:	The gap is where you slip your hook or eye to hold the jig or fly. The screw on the other side allows for slight adjustment of that gap which allows you to then use the lever to lock it into place.
