12 best 8x30 binoculars
8x30 binoculars are a type of binoculars commonly used for various outdoor activities such as birdwatching, hiking, hunting, and sports events. The "8x" in the designation indicates the magnification power, meaning these binoculars can magnify the image eight times the normal view. The "30" represents the diameter of the objective lenses in millimeters.
In this case, the "30" implies that the objective lenses have a diameter of 30mm. The objective lenses are a crucial component of binoculars as they determine how much light can be gathered to create a bright and clear image.
Binoculars with a 8x30 configuration strike a balance between magnification power and portability. The 8x magnification offers a close-up view while still providing a relatively steady image, making them versatile for a range of outdoor and indoor activities.
The 30mm objective lenses allow for a decent amount of light to enter the binoculars, making them suitable for use in moderate lighting conditions. This can be beneficial for activities such as birdwatching or nature observation in varying light conditions.
Overall, 8x30 binoculars are a popular choice for enthusiasts who want a compact and lightweight option with a good balance of magnification and brightness, making them suitable for a wide range of applications.

User questions & answers
Question: | How does this model differ from the nikon prostaff 7s 8x30 bionoculars in image sharpness, quality of glass, weight, focus wheel, eye relief, etc |
Answer: | I have no experience with the Prostaff 7s 8X30 but I can attest that the Nikon Monarch 7 8X30 are as clear and as easy to hold as any I have ever had. I gave the Monarch 7s to my son-in-law and would enjoy having another pair to replace them. |
Question: | Are they coated with anti fog |
Answer: | yes i believe so |
Question: | What is the body these made of |
Answer: | Coated with rubberized padding. Very comfortable to hold. Not sure what body is made of |
Question: | Whas is better the Monarch 7 8x30 (this product) or the Monarch 7 8x |
Answer: | The monarch 7s in 8x42 are some of the lightest Ive handled in that size. I love mine. But I was looking at the 8x30 in store the other day and these things weigh just about nothing and are tiny but make you feel like you are looking through a full size. They would be the perfect lightweight bins that can fit in your pocket. They are a little over $100 less then the 8x42 which makes them even more tempting. But if you are going to do any night viewing, the 8x42 will be better...not by a lot but still noticeably brighter at night. If I was comparing them side by side, I probably would have went with the 8x30s because of how compact and ultra light they are and just bought a 7x50 poro for night. If you're looking for one pair for all around use then get the bigger 8x42, they are still very light and handy for the 42mm objective...one of the lightest of that size |

Diamondback HD Roof Prism Binoculars
The Diamondback HD smashes the scale of price vs performance, delivering a rock-solid optic that optically punches high above its class.
Adjust Eyecups & IPD
The eyecups on the Diamondback HD binocular twist up and down so any viewer can see the full field and enjoy comfortable viewing—with or without eyeglasses. When not using eyeglasses or sunglasses, keep the eyecups fully extended. For the best viewing when wearing glasses, twist eyecups down.
The interpupillary distance (IPD) is the distance between the center of your left and right pupils. Match the IPD of your eyes and your binocular by rotating the barrels in or out until you see a single image free of shading.
Focus Your Binocular
Use the center focus and diopter to adjust for vision differences in each eye. Choose an object about 20 yards away and perform this two-step process:
- Close your right eye or cover the right objective lens with your hand. Look at the object with your left eye and adjust the center focus dial until the image is in focus.
- Close your left eye or cover the left objective lens with your hand and rotate the ring until the object is in focus.
Neck Strap
Attach the padded neck strap in these three simple steps.
- Push a few inches of the strap through the strap attachment on the binocular.
- Hold the buckle and thread the end of the strap through the buckle.
- Adjust the overall length, then pull tight until strap secured within the buckle.
Lens Care
In order to enjoy the best views through your binocular, take time to regularly clean the exterior lenses:
- Remove any dust or grit from lenses before wiping. Use a can of pressurized air, soft camel hair brush, or an acrylic optical brush.
- Clear lenses of smudges, fingerprints, or eyelash oil. Fog the lenses with your own breath, then use a nonabrasive lens cloth to clean the lenses.

User questions & answers
Question: | So these note extremely compact and yet the product dimensions show 8.5 x 5.6 x 2.9 inches, but 8.5 isn't compact, so ]what is the actual folded size |
Answer: | Width of the area you can see is 341 yards, at 1000 yards. |
Question: | Do these binoculars come with the following accessories (rainguard, tethered objective lens covers, neck strap, case |
Answer: | C1 - Made in Philipines |
Question: | Where/which country are these Terra's 8x25 made |
Answer: | Both will have benefits and disadvantages. 10x50s will get you closer and might have better detail with less light but the 8x42s will help you track birds that are moving around a lot and they are smaller and lighter so you’ll more than likely want to carry them around a lot. I personally think 8x42 are an awesome balance of zoom, brightness size and weight. |
Question: | What's the max pupil distance |
Answer: | B series have better glass, are made of metal and made in the USA. Biggest differences you’d see would be sharper focus and brighter in low light hours. I have the B.2 and would say to someone who uses the binos during hunting season or every now and again, you should save the $600. If you will spend hundreds of hours behind the glass spend the excess and save your eye’s. The B series are also heavier. |

User questions & answers
Question: | What is the "near focus" of these binoculars? In other words, what's the closest to the object being viewed at which these will focus sharply |
Answer: | The Nikon ProStaff 8x42 will focus sharp at 3 meters or about 9 feet 10 inches. |
Question: | Are these fogproof |
Answer: | Not sure what you mean by "Are these fogproof." Nikon advertises these Nikon 16030 binoculars as "waterproof" so I would think that condensation forming on the binocular will not result in damage. Will the lens fog? Absolutely yes, as will any cold surface in contact with atmospheric water vapor. When water vapor in the atmosphere contacts a cold surface (or cold binocular) the vapor cools and condenses into liquid water assuming certain conditions having to do with temperature and pressure are met. To reduce "fog" on the lens keep your binocular warm, inside your jacket if possible. |
Question: | Is it really 4.8 oz or 19.9 oz, waterproof/fogproof, 413 ft/1,000 yd FOV |
Answer: | They are 19.9 oz. I have had no issues with fogging and the ratio is correct. I hope this helps. They are the best binoculars I’ve had. |
Question: | Do these binoculars come with there own carrying case |
Answer: | they come with lens caps, not a carrying case |

User questions & answers
Question: | Are the eye piece on the B3 8x30 the same size as the B |
Answer: | No, they are smaller in diameter and in height. |
Question: | Is this made in usa |
Answer: | I was told they were assembled in the US with Japanese lenses but they have Japan stamped on a little corner on the body. |
Question: | How is the 8x30 objective lens compared to 8x42? Does the light gathering suffer compared to 42's? My primary use will be for 3D archery and hunting |
Answer: | 42 mm will bring in more light than 30 mm. However, the glass quality of the B3 is a higher grade than the C1. The trade-off on a 30 mm verse of 42 mm is weight, and some of this can be countered by improved glass quality |

User questions & answers
Question: | hello, they bring strap to hang it |
Answer: | Mine is a black case with buckle closure and no strap. Purchased several years ago- don’t know if it’s changed since then. |
Question: | Can these mount to a tripod with an adaptor or accept a stud to mount to a tripod |
Answer: | I always thought it was Germany. The "Leitz" brand is made by Leica, but in Brazil. I don't know if Leitz is still manufactured. In any event, you can't go wrong with the Leica 10x25. I carry mine in a large shirt pocket. The field of view is a little small, but that's what you trade off for a bino that is small and easy to carry. I purchased my bino, keeping in mind that I wanted a good product that would last me for the rest of my life. I have not been disappointed. |
Question: | Do these (model 2046) have rubber coating (armoring |
Answer: | Come with a solid nylon bag. |
Question: | are any binocs eyeglass wearer friendly |
Answer: | Waterproof is a tricky word. Certainly water resistant is probably the best way to think of this pair. Outstanding optics...consider a waterproof case as smart protection. |
