Answer:	I have the Officejet Pro 8610 that also specifies the 950 and 951 and the IKONG cartridges are very good replacements. So they should also work in the 8100.

You must download and run the software on a computer connected to the printer, it will flash the firmware and the cartridges will work after that. Finding the software can be a bit tricky but it is available under HP site, easier to search under google news and use the link, it was published 12 oct 2016. I tried it and it worked. Dont' get ripped off by HP expensive ink.
