Answer:	Depends on what lens case your asking about. I have both the Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM and the Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM. It doesn't fit attached with the earlier model lens case but does fit attached in the newer model case. I didn't know until your question and I tried it. I learned something new myself.
