Extension tubes are designed to enable a lens to focus closer than its normal set minimum focusing distance. Getting closer has the effect of magnifying your subject (making it appear larger in the viewfinder and in your pictures). They are exceptionally useful for macro photography, enabling you to convert almost any lens into a macro lens at a fraction of the cost while maintaining its original optical quality.



The extension tubes have no optics. They are mounted in between the camera body and lens to create more distance between the lens and film plane. The greater the length of the extension tube, the closer the lens can focus.





Tips: When all the tubes are stacked together, you could find the auto focus does not perform very well, this is a problem in general for any brand extension tube set. The more/longer tubes you add the more you have to close up the aperture in order to get the subject in focus, thus the more light you need. This means your camera may have a hard time auto focusing because of the small depth of field you work with (the closer the subject the less depth of field you have). So compensate for it, use manual focus or set the camera on a tripod with a focusing rail.

Answer:	Miss: Alyssa C. My one and only experience has been with the Canon Rebel T3. However, on 30Jan2014 I bought a wide angle lens for my T3. The lens was for a T3i. It fitted just right. It works great in photography involving flowers.

Answer:	You can actually remove the glass in this one, and replace it as needed. You would probably want to have a rubber lens removal tool handy (this lets you unscrew and replace the lens). My experience in shooting without the lens was an extremely blurry image.

Answer:	It doesn't fit directly onto the body of the Canon EOS M. YOu will need the mount adapter EF EOS M. I bought this with the 0.43x wide angle macro lens 58mm that screws onto the front of my lens. It dose not fit the wide angle macro lens that I bought with it. The wide angle macro lens fits onto the front of my Canon EFS 55-250mm lens. I bought it so I would have the option since it is cheap enough and it gives different results. But since it is manual and it doesn't communicate with my camera, the EOS M sends out a message that a lens is not attached to the camera. However, if you can get it to work with your camera, you can get real close with your zoom lens.

Answer:	The only reason you would want to do it that way, I think, is to avoid lifting the additional weight from the extensions, which weigh 14 pounds. Or maybe handling considerations in a constrained environment - not sure. However, the ideal setup involves having the top step of the ladder roughly level with the gutter so you don't need to step up and over it. This means that the extension slides on the ladder down below the gutter level, and that means you'd have to use one hand to push the ladder away far enough to get some clearance, while carefully sliding the extension on with the other hand, which is at least a little dangerous; then going down the ladder, getting the other extension, and repeating for the other side. So in short, I think it would be very difficult to do what you're proposing with the ladder at the normal intended height. If you extended the ladder a few feet taller, it would be trivial to slide them on, but climbing up and over an elevated step defeats most of the safety purpose of buying these extensions. So I would suggest attaching them before raising the ladder, as called out in the instructions, and the simple answer to your question is, "no, you shouldn't slide the extensions on after putting the ladder against the gutter."

Answer:	I think so, as long as the tape format is the same, in this case media is the mini DV tape and format is AVI, uncompressed audio/video signal of the highest quality. mini DV tapes are used for this format as they have large memory, unlike memory cards, HD's etc which mostly use compressed format (say mp4 etc) and yet claim in some cases to be HQ recordings
Question:	auto focus not working, have nikon d50 and 18-55 DX lense. is there a problem with this setup
Answer:	Uses mini DV tapes. Has an adapter that connects to the handycam with standard yellow, white, red plugs for video, audio lt, rt. Also has connections for USB (I assume 1.0 since the camera is so old, firewire (labeled as DV in/out, s-video, headphone, mic, and one labeled "lang" that I did not look up in the manual. I use it for filming swimmers underwater. I have an underwater camera on a pole, connect to the handycam with video input through the adapter, so really using the camera as a video recorder, then film starts with the camera itself, then show using the adpter and video output with a projector, use the handycam as a video player. I have also copied the tape contents to a computer using the DV (firewire) port, then edited and displayed to the swimmers using the Dartfish program. This is the only camera I found still available that could do all that, especially the video recorder/player functions.
