Answer:	If you are using it on a 20 foot flag pole, save your money. On a small flag pole out in front of the house a few feet away it would work. If I had to pick I would say cool bright on the highest setting. It has 2 settings.

5. How do I replace the batteries when they no longer hold a charge?

Simply remove the rear panel of the Solar Flag Light to get access to the battery tray. Remove the old batteries and replace with three brand new AA NiMH rechargeable batteries. Replace the rear panel when you are finished.

6. Do I have to use brand new batteries?

Yes. Used batteries may not be able to provide enough voltage or current. Even old batteries that have never been used may not work if the batteries have been sitting too long and lost some charge. Using brand new batteries will ensure the Solar Flag Light will work right away and continue to work for the full lifetime of the batteries.

7. Where is the light sensor located?

The light sensor is located on the conical section of the main body, directly below the neck of the light head. It is a small, clear plastic circle. Be sure the light sensor is not covered or in shadow. If the light sensor is covered or in shadow, the Solar Flag Light will activate during the day and may not have enough power left in the batteries to last through the night.

8. How long does the Solar Flag Light need to charge before I can turn it on?

We recommend you do an initial charge of three days with the Solar Flag Light Off to ensure a full charge. After that, you can click the power button to turn the light ON. From that point forward, as long as the solar panel receives 6-8 hours of direct sunlight every day, the Solar Flag Light should charge enough during the day to work up to the maximum runtime.

9. How long will the Solar Flag Light stay on?

When the batteries are fully charged, the Solar Flag Light will turn on at dusk and stay on until the sun rises or the batteries run out of power, whichever comes first. There are two power settings on this light: full power and half power. When fully charged, the light will last up to 6.5 hours on full power or up to 13 hours on half power.

There are two buttons on the side of the light body. One is labeled 'On/Off' and the other is labeled 'Brightness Full/Half”. Press the 'Brightness Full/Half' button to switch between the two power modes. Switching to half brightness will increase the amount of time the light will stay on.

11. Will the Solar Flag Light continue to work in extreme weather conditions?

The Solar Flag Light works best between temperatures of 20 degree Fahrenheit and 120 degree Fahrenheit. If the temperature is 20 degree Fahrenheit or below, the batteries may not function as well; however the batteries will resume normal function once the temperature rises. The Solar Flag Light is designed to withstand normal dirt and water exposure as well, but may be damaged by hurricanes and cannot be submerged in water.

12. What type of solar panel does the Solar Flag Light use?

The Solar Flag Light uses a polycrystalline solar panel which is approximately 6-inches by 6-inches and generates 6 Volts DC and 300 milliamps of current when in direct sunlight. The solar panel can charge properly working batteries with 6-8 hours of direct sunlight.

17. My Solar Flag Light does not seem to be lasting through the night. Why is that?

If the Solar Flag Light is set to full power, it will only last for a maximum of 6.5 hours. Make sure the light is set to half power to ensure it will last through the night. Also make sure the daylight sensor is not in a shadow and activating the Solar Flag Light during the day. If the light is activating during the day, then the batteries may not have enough of a charge to last all night.

Answer:	Not exactly sure you mean, but if you mean you're mounting the light upside-down, so that the light is cast upward, then i don't see HOW you could charge the solar panels, since they're then on the UNDERSIDE. Seems counter-intuitive to me. I use mine mounted on a flagpole on our RV. It charges in place, with the solar panels pointed up, so that the light is cast downward onto the flag at night. Never tried it upside-down... Good luck!

Question:	My light has been up for 3 days and is not working, does it take a few days
Answer:	No it should not take 3 days . Try pushing the little white button on the bottom one time and have it in the sun so it can collect the solar. I have emailed this company about a need for directions that need to be sent with this light. It should have been a given but guess they don’t see that. Make sure you comment in your feedback.

Answer:	I believe there are two settings for the light. one is an energy saver (light stays on a few hours longer), but also isn't as bright. there is no other dimming options on the light itself.

Answer:	I think it should work on. 1" pole. I have it on a 2" pole & I think the hardware supplied will tighten down well to secure it tl your pole.

Answer:	I have a retractable flag pole and this installed easily. I was able to remove the gold ball topper, placed the light on the ball rod and screwed the ball ornament back in place and had just enough room to tighten in place.
Question:	I am getting white haze film over my solar panals. Does this reduce effectiveness? Any ideas on how to remove the haze
Answer:	After a couple of years, I also had white haze on the solar panels. Are used a green scouring kitchen sponge to easily remove the haze with no scratching and it’s good as new!

Answer:	The extra switch is for the LOW/HIGH feature of this particular Halo light. The LOW setting works just fine for me and puts out more than enough light for anyone driving down the road at 3:00am to see my flag from over 100 ft. away.

Answer:	The light assembly is lite weight, your flag(s) would cause more of a wind drag than the light. So, no.
Question:	Will this work on a house mount flag pole
Answer:	I believe that it could work with some adaptation. A threaded adapter of 1/2" diameter would have to be fashioned to also fit the inside diameter of the flagpole. I might suggest a hardware store that would stock a variety of 6"-8" long plastic screws where the shank of the screw is a larger diameter than the threaded portion.
