Answer:	Yes, the magic arm have no problem hold the weight up to 4lbs.
Question:	Does the cold shoe remove to expose a 3/8 inch screw
Answer:	Yes it does. 3/8" screw on both sides and a 3/8' to 3/8' thumbscrew connector (or whatever it's called) so that you can add a cold shoe or light or microphone or anything else that might have a male screw extension. And again, remove it and you have exposed screws for a 3/8" female connector. Best part of this thing is that the ball joints have interlocking teeth, so there's no slip AT ALL if the tension isn't enough to keep the joint firmly adjusted. And the one large tension screw (again whatever it's actually called) in the middle tightens everything, including the center teeth-enlocked joint AND the two ball joints on either end. It's a really nice, light, adjustable extension arm. Get one.

Answer:	Depends on the diameter of the rod but I don't think so. The teeth of the jaw clamp tightly but the gullets only closed down to 1/2inch.

Answer:	It can clamp on pretty much anything with the giant clamp. I have It attached to a flat bar on the back of a multi monitor stand. I also have another one attached to a dresser vanity mirror.
