Answer:	Short answer: Yes, but not recommended for people without basic electrical knowledge.Long answer: Yes, it is safe as long as every extension cord connected in the line is rated for the amount of amps you are trying to pull through the cords. You run into fire hazards when you exceed the amperage rating of any extension cord in the line. For example, you connect this product to a light duty extension cord rated at 13 amps which is connected to an outlet on a 20 amp circuit. You decide to connect devices to this product which pull a total of 18 amps. The breaker in your house won't trip because the amps drawn didn't exceed 20 amps, but the cheap light duty extension cord with no over-current protection starts to heat up, melt, and/or catch on fire. The reason most people tell the common person they can't connect multiple power strips together, is because most people won't do the necessary calculation to do it in a safe manner.

Answer:	Reading off of the item in my hand its Stamped "Voltage Protection rating L-N 400V, L-G 500V, N-G 500V Type 3 SPDMy model number on mine says BE11230-08 so there may have been a change.
Question:	What is the amp rating on the USB plugs
Answer:	2 amps. But if you plug in two devices it will divide to 1 amp each.

Answer:	Yes! Near the power cord, there is an on off switch.
Question:	I had a lightning strike last night and this popped and made a loud noise and then burning wire smell. Is this normal (how they die)? Fire hazard
Answer:	If you have experienced a lighting strike, the MOVs (metal oxide varistors) that dissipate the energy have been stressed. They may not handle the next strike very well and damage the important equipment you plug into this. It is best to purchase a new one so that it will work properly for the next lighting strike. If this is a common occurrence at your home, you should look into lighting arrestors and better ground for your electrical connection to the power grid. I would not trust the protection light (Green) if you are smelling any sort of burnt wire smell. The likelihood of a fire hazard is increased - if wire insulation has melted due to heat from the lighting strike. If I remember correctly, MOVs usually fail to an open state but I would not bet on it without testing. It is cheap insurance to throw this out and replace it with new.

Answer:	that's the shipping box size. unit is only 5x6 by a couple inches tallIT'S VERY COMPACT. WE LOVE THE CONVENIENT WAY PLUGS SWIVEL.
Question:	Is this a good choice for a 1200 watts microwave
Answer:	I have it clamped to a desktop that is an inch thick. It could easily clamp to a thicker desktop. It works best if the edge is square and not beveled. Before the current desk I clamped the power strip to a folding plastic table that had a deeply beveled edge. It clamped on but was a bit loose. It also will work best if there is 1 1/2" to 2" lip on the desk top so the clamp can be seated firmly and securely.
Question:	How many joules does an ajustable bed frame use
Answer:	Most Tripp Lite have standard plugs in this price range. However, I only use Tripp Lite brand. Have a $25,000 stereo. Want real protection? Look into Tripp Lite ISOBAR units. Isobars have maximum protection, maximum noise reduction, any they do come with right any plugs.
Question:	Can this be used for 220V outlet
Answer:	It has a standard plug and sticks out. If you want to use this where it lays flat there are adapters you can get at any hardware store and maybe on amazon.

Question:	Can I ground this to just a scrap piece of metal or old computer chassis part
Answer:	Don't even think about it. You want the electrical path from the lightning bolt to earth ground to be quick and easy so it spends the smallest possible amount of its energy inside your house. Look online for some pictures of what lightning can do when it DOESN'T have a quick easy path. If the instructions specify a wire size, go for same or larger, not smaller.
Question:	Will this or any device protect from a lightening strike coming in through the phone line
Answer:	Nothing is absolute, but that is the purpose of devices like this. I bought this for my daughter’s cabin. We had a recent lightning strike about a mile away that apparently induced a large current in the phone line. It followed the phone line and used the phone’s power connection as a path to ground. This device should cause surges like that to be shunted to ground before it gets in the house. This needs to be mounted outside in a dry location with an earth ground stake.
Question:	I'm looking for something to surge protect my landline in an apartment. Will this do the job
Answer:	Hi, I believe that it will, but only an old fashioned two wire telephone land line , it will not work for a high speed line. ( like DSL). Also, you must connect the ground wire to a good, clean physical earth ground ( the third prong on any 120 VAC outlet in the USA). ( otherwise it will not work !! ) I hope that helps . Answer:	Short answer: Yes, but not recommended for people without basic electrical knowledge.Long answer: Yes, it is safe as long as every extension cord connected in the line is rated for the amount of amps you are trying to pull through the cords. You run into fire hazards when you exceed the amperage rating of any extension cord in the line. For example, you connect this product to a light duty extension cord rated at 13 amps which is connected to an outlet on a 20 amp circuit. You decide to connect devices to this product which pull a total of 18 amps. The breaker in your house won't trip because the amps drawn didn't exceed 20 amps, but the cheap light duty extension cord with no over-current protection starts to heat up, melt, and/or catch on fire. The reason most people tell the common person they can't connect multiple power strips together, is because most people won't do the necessary calculation to do it in a safe manner.

Answer:	While the description for the item from the manufacturer says it is for phones I have not used this on a phone line before. The RJ-11 phone jack will fit into the RJ-45 data port but you would need to provide your own short RJ-11 wire to connect between the phone and this filter as the provided RJ-45 cable would not fit into your phone port. Other than that it would probably work fine. If you can find a DTEL2 by Tripp Lite this is specifically made for phone lines.

Answer:	Really don't know any advantage but I use it to protect an ATM outside the main building and it protect the equipment. I use one on each side. It receive a hit from a ligthning. It blow the fuze inside but the equipment survive thanks to this device. I think that the capacitors for networks have a lower voltage resistance than the telephone one. The capacitors for tel must resist the 80 volts of the ringing. The network one may no resist this voltage for a longer time.

Answer:	The USB ports have worked great for me and my iPad 2. The only thing to be sure about is the cord you use. If you are having trouble charging your iPad, there is a good chance that you may be using a cord that does not work.
