Answer:	I have my desktop plugged in to the control and the monitor and a happy light plugged in to the switched. At first when my desktop would turn on my switched outlets kept turning on and off. I did a lot of reading before actually buying this thing, and I remember reading somewhere that the suggested level for the switch when using a desktop is high. But, the problem is that some things are now more power efficient. So, if your things in the switched outlets keep turning on and off then bump your switch down a notch to medium or even low. I believe High handles up to 42 watts, Medium handles up to 22 watts, and Low handles up to 10 watts. So, if you have it on the High setting that means that the switched outlets will only turn on when your computer uses up to 42 watts. In my situation, my desktop must be teatering between a little more than 42 watts and a little less than 42 watts because everything kept turning on and off. I bumped the switch to Medium and now everything is fine. No more turning on and off.

For example, a tv that when off, is still on with a vampire draw of power to retain its settings. Use the control outlet for a device that you turn off and on, such as a tv, and use the switched outlets for devices, such as a sound bar, that only need to be on when you turn on the control device, the tv.Some of today's modern devices are designed to draw power even when off. Sucks, but the only way to avoid that is to unplug the device.
Question:	Could you please exlpain the the adjustable threshold switch? the instuctions are vague
Answer:	The switch has three positions. This unit will detect how much current is been used on the control outlet. If it is none, the relay will cut off power to the controlled outlets.If for example, a TV set is connected to the control outlet, when this TV is turn on, the unit will detect consumption , activate the relay and power will be available on the controlled outlets.However. some TV's will not turn off completely off but go to a standby mode and will consume a little current.This switch can be adjusted so this small consumption can be ignored and the controlled outputs still will remain off.What this switch do is to determine how much current should be ignored. It will set a threshold (low, medium, high) that the user will adjust as needed for the amount his TV will consume in standby mode. Anything over that will turn the relay on and it will be power in the controlled outlets.

Their wattage varies depending on whether using external monitor & state of battery. My MacBook Pro pulls 6-8 watts during the workday and that isn't enough wattage.

The green plugs will only have power when there is a device in the outlet labeled control that the power strip senses to be on (by the amount of power being drawn through the control outlet). Ideally, the device in the control outlet is the main device and the green outlets would be peripherals for the control device. This Advanced Power Strip is designed to save energy in a Television or Computer setup as both those main devices tend to have a number of peripherals.
Question:	Can this work on 12000 btu air conditioner to slave fans
Answer:	There is a three position switch that sets the threshold. From the manual for a TS1003: "Switching Adjusts the Threshold at which the Threshold Switched outlets switch On/Off. 10W - Low - Notebook 22W - Medium- PC 42W - High - TV" In my experience, there is some hysteresis. (The minimum draw to turn on is higher than the maximum draw to turn back off.) In my application, the standby draw of the sensed device, an AVR, was enough to prevent switching the controlled loads back off in the low setting when the AVR was turned "off". Setting to the mid position fixed this.

Answer:	The 'always on' & 'control' outlets always have power so those would be ideal for a mobile phone charger. The 'switched' (green) outlets only have power when a device in the control outlet is turned on using electricity above the threshold set by the selector on the side. The switched outlets would not be great candidates for a mobile phone charger in most scenarios.

Product description

Tricklestar's 8 outlet timer power strip has LED status indication lights (Ground, Surge Status, Power) with 4 outlets that are always on and 4 outlets that are time controlled. Power strip can time up to 48 events per day. There is a minimum timer resolution of 15 minutes with a resettable circuit breaker and surge protection. Power strip comes with a heavy duty cable and <40dB noise filtering.

Answer:	Thanks for the question. This unit has a fixed threshold set at 10 watts. If the device connected to the control outlet is drawing more than 10 watts, then the Advanced Power Strip will turn on the switched outlets.
Question:	How long is the cord
Answer:	Thanks for the question. With this unit, the TV should be connected to the 3rd outlet - labeled control. The control outlet is a constant power outlet. When the power strip senses the TV is on (TV drawing more than 10 watts of electricity), the switched outlets will have power. If the power strip does not sense the TV is on (less than 10 watts electrical draw), then the switched outlets will be off.
