User questions & answers

Question: can i use these on xbox
Answer: Yes, if you have the xbox one headset adapter then it will work, unless you have a xbox one s controller then you will not need the adapter for it to work
Question: will this work to connect my turtle beach 3.5mm p4c headset to my PC with separate mic/headphone jacks
Answer: Yes it will, I use it to connect my Bose to my PC with separate mic and headphone jacks.
Question: How do you know which is the mic/headphone jack? are they labeled or are they interchangeable
Answer: Mine are not labeled. Both of my plugs are identical, unmarked, black. Likewise, I get sound in my headphones no matter which I plug into the speaker/headphone output jack. No matter which is plugged into the mic in jack, a microphone test program only registers sound on the mic when there is a sound being played on the headphones. I think this means that both plugs are actually connected to the same L and R headphone rings, and neither is connected to the microphone rings on my 4 place plug.
Question: The image hows 2x 3 pin 3.5mm male jacks. but the discription says 4 pin, which is it
Answer: The image is correct. It is 2 x 3 pin male jacks. The female end is 4 pin. So it's like the description says: 3.5mm 4 Pin female to 2x3 Pin male 3.5mm

User questions & answers

Question: Will quarter inch instrument cables fit into the female end
Answer: No. A 1/4 instrument plug is about twice the size of a 3.5mm jack. 3.5mm is the metric size that a musician would recognize as "1/8 inch". To connect an instrument to your phone, try looking for something called iRig, which includes the addapter you are looking for and an app to simulate various FX racks for practice.
Question: will this item work for extending the length of the mic for iphone to make short films
Answer: Yes, so long as you plug a mic plugged into it. Think of it as an extension cord.
Question: When plugged into this extension cable, will the controls on my original iPhone earbuds still work (volume up, volume down, pause/play
Answer: It does. But for some reason I have to unplug from my Mac frequently for it recognize the buttons... not sure why.
Question: Hi there - just to make sure, is extension cable compatible with a single 3.5mm headset/mic combo
Answer: I've used it with an iPhone headset/mic combo and it doesn't work very well. I don't know if the contacts don't line up correctly or it is an internal issue. Sometimes the mic works but when it does you can hear a hum during playback. I don't know about other brands of headset/mic combos but for iPhone, this cable does not do the job. I would look elsewhere.
