Answer:	I'm using it to drive my 43" Dell 4K monitor fro my MacBook Pro without problems. I don't think the cable will be an issue; you need to find out if the iMac will let you drive the monitor from an external source. I don't believe the 5K iMacs support 'Target Display Mode,' which would let you use them as a secondary monitor. Shame on Apple if this is the case.

Answer:	I have one of these and no problems on a 32" 2K monitor. I can say for sure of how it will work for you. On the other hand I bought a couple of a different brand three foot display cables had short blackouts on the same monitor. I do not hardly think anybody would know for sure in your application. Answer:	Yes this his cable does support 144hz refresh rate (I assume you mean refresh rate) but only if your monitor supports it. You can check with Samsung or the user manual that comes with it. You also need to have a graphics card that is powerful enough to handle 144hz at 2k. It takes You would probably need at least an AMD Radeon RX 590 or something equivalent to that or better for most games. Running games at 144hz is harder on the graphics card than playing games at 60hz or 75hz.

Answer:	Most new monitors and mid level GPU's use Displayport. It allows for higher resolutions and higher refresh rates. 1080p 60Hz would still use hdmi but anything over that is usually displayport.

Answer:	Honestly I couldn't find any solid information on compliance for this cable so i can't say (No info on VESA certification). I currently have it hooked up to a 1080p Freesync monitor and have no problems with display quality or any of the issues that an active 20th pin normally causes (And its getting crazy amounts usage with no issues so far). I did use it briefly to test a new 4K TV and the image quality was excellent. On both instances they were hooked to the same PC and the GPU I have on that is an XFX's Radeon R9 380X.
