So the cable does not convert USB 2.0 to USB 3.0, but will allow the two devices to talk, and the USB 3.0 device will 'Revert' back to running as an USB 2.0 device. Answer:	Depends on what you mean and what you connect to the cables, but basically No. The voltage is the same for both connectors, and the devices you plug in will pull the amount of amps that they need. Thus you will only "reduce power" if the devices you connect pull more amps than what is available in your computer system.

DisplayPort output to VGA input. It will not take a VGA output and convert it to a DisplayPort input.

Answer:	That is a very interesting issue! I have not heard that before with this as the item. I know is some applications if you click your CTRL button and one of the arrows the screen will flip to that direction. Maybe give this a try to see if it works?

Answer:	Yes. I use mine on a pc monitor and a projector pointed at a promethean or smart board. The cable to the monitor is standard (about 3 feet in length) but the cable going to my projector is about 25 feet. Here is my issue: the monitor picture/color/brightness is normal when both are in use but the projector is not as bright and vibrant. I thought for a long time that the bulb in the projector was just getting old and ready to give it up. However, when I disconnect the cable going to the pc monitor, the projector picture gets much brighter and can then be seen easily in a lighted room. I am assuming that just using two short monitor cables will not effect picture quality and brightness much at all if any. Make sure the spliter cable you are buying matches the connections you are going to connect to, or there are little male/female adapters that you can get in many different configurations. I just have them sitting around in case things don't match up correctly.
