Answer:	There is a copper braided connector for the ground connections. I've used GLS Audio microphone cable in a professional studio and stage applications for fifteen years. I've never had a single failure or issue. The cable is supple and contains oxygen-free copper. I have no Earthly idea what the other respondent was talking about regarding a shield and being susceptible to noise. That's hogwash. Wire it correctly for balanced applications and this cable is dead quiet. And it's a heck of a lot easier to work with than star-quad. My only concern was shipping weight as GLS Audio was based in California. However, they would have an annual sale where I would buy five 300' spools and get discounted ground shipping. I highly recommend this cable.

Answer:	It should work. Your product says to connect a standard dynamic mic and they use a 3 conductor cable like the one you are looking at. The cable converts the XLR from the mic to TRS for the mic jack. (tip ring sleeve).

Answer:	These cables will certainly work to patch the Mackie to the focusrite. Since I know nothing about your speakers I can't say for sure about that patch. Personally I use a 1/4" TRS to a split RCA cable to feed my little Presonus monitors and a TRS split to 1/4" feed the amp that drives my big old Altec monitors. I no longer do live or remote work but I used to and - in many years of using GLS cables- I have not had a failure of their products. These days I use a Mackie 1604 VLZ 3 feeding a Focusrite 18i8 that I supplement ( when needed) with an A.R.T. opto 8 .

Answer:	These are a three contact (Balanced) cable. It's the same configuration you'd see for a 1/4" stereo plug, so if you're connecting a 1/4" stereo unit, yes, this will work, but the intention is for a balanced mono signal connection.

Answer:	Do you have XLR outputs on your mixer AND XLR inputs on your speakers? Is either, not both, mixer or speakers powered? Powered monitors or mixers means they include a power amplifier which is necessary to drive speakers, or headphones for that matter. I'm guessing if you're asking this question you have a lot to learn about hooking this stuff up. It's pretty basic. Figure out whether or not you've got a power amplifier in one unit or the other. If not then you're going to have to get one of those. Look at the output jacks on the mixer. Look at the input connections on the speaker (or power amp if needed). The connectors have a good chance of being different from each other. In that case you'll need an adapter cable that fits on both ends. Might be able to find one somewhere or you might have to fashion you own. Good Luck.

Answer:	I don't think so. This is a quality cable that produces transparent microphone audio signals and frequencies. It is possible that your old cable may be affecting your microphone equalization. That said, make sure that your microphone and mixer/ mike preamplifier impedance and audio signal phasing are correct across your entire system.
