A better result would be to connect the Echo Dot to a speaker or use Bluetooth to connect it to the speaker

Answer:	My uses for 18650s are in flashlights. And two 123s (rechargeable or disposable) usually work. I did have one light however that burned out a bulb when I substituted four 123s for two 18650s. They do generate higher voltage.

Answer:	They could, but without knowing more its impossible to answer. Most likely if you are asking then these will not work for your purpose. Most mods use 18650 batteries which are a different size. If you are thinking about modifying it to take these, be careful about adding more than 1 (if your mod only took 1 18650) because doubling up on the batteries increases the voltage and will probably be too much for your device.
