Answer:	My TV is a Samsung. It does not have an av port. It has what is called a one connect box. My VCR output is connected to the RCA input to Video Converter. The HDMI output from the Video Converter is connected by a 4K HDMI cable to the one connect box. Make sure you use a 4K HDMI cable. If your TV has an additional HDMI input you should come out of the Video Converter with an 4K HDMI cable and connect it to the HDMI on the back of your TV. I hope this helps.

I know for instance that I could plug my VHS machine into the rear of an older receiver and feed the HDMI out to an older HDTV. However I can't do that with the new 4K HDTV sets, giving me a black picture, my having to by-pass the video-in on the receiver and use the converter's HDMI input jack instead with a receiver that uses HDMI jacks that carry audio and video. Answer:	That's the way I use it. I have a DVR/VHS attached to my smart TV and watch DVDs and VCRs on my TV. Computer: doubtful--unless you have some software I've never heard of. Most HDMI ports on computer only output video can not be used to input. Computer monitor, definitely. The VCR should work just fine.

Note:

It is the YPbPr to HDMI converter, not supporting reverse use will not improve the picture quality.

The old game system/DVD you use can be converted, allowing you to experience the game on HDMI TV, but it will not improve the picture quality.

When using PS2 game console, the output mode of PS2 needs to be changed to "YPbPr" mode instead of "RGB".
