Also, for added accuracy with small children, the scale weighs in half-pound increments up to 60 pounds. Calibration is a snap with a "zero out" feature that allows you to adjust for the weight of clothing or a diaper. This scale is powered by a replaceable nine-volt battery (not included), includes a growth chart to track height and weight against national averages, and it is backed by a five-year limited warranty.

Operating the Scale

Place the scale on flat, level surface. A hard surface, such as a tile or linoleum floor, is the best for maximum accuracy. If the scale is placed on a soft, deep rug, then it may not produce accurate results. Once the scale is placed on an appropriate surface, press On/Off and wait for the display to show zeros. If the display shows "0:0", the scale is set to pounds/ounces; if the display shows "0.00" the scale is set to kilograms/grams. Press the lb/kg button to select between pounds or kilograms.

The scale can be operated with or without the tray. When using the tray, make sure that it is securely locked into place before placing your baby on the scale. Simply lay your baby on the tray and read the display. To use the scale without the tray, you'll need to remove the tray by turning the locking nut clockwise. Answer:	I was using for kittens. You stand sit or otherwise place the object to be weighed on the scale. If the child cannot stand still & steady long enough to get a good weight, sitting is your best option.

Answer:	According to the manual, the scale will weigh up to 60 pounds ( 27 kilos). As for minimum weight, probably 1 pound. It does measure fractions of a pound as well. As for sensibility, it is not going to be fine tuned. If you are looking at anything more accurate that probably 1/10 of a pound, this would not be your scale. It does fine for our kitties which weigh from 11 pounds to 18 pounds.
Question:	How's the accuracy of this scale
Answer:	This scale has been very accurate in my experience. When I first got it, I put two 3 lb weights on there and it weighed exactly 6 pounds. I bought this to keep track of what my baby weighed (born at low birthweight and had trouble keeping weight on early on). My child is now over a year old and every time I go to the doctor, the weight they get is within just a couple of ounces of what I get at home. I would recommend this for it's accuracy and ease of use.

Answer:	The number 100 is appx. 3/4 of an inch wide. My vision is not the best and i can read the scales.

Answer:	The scale is made of metal with rubber pads to stand on. However, I have had trouble getting it to stay set at zero. After you weigh yourself it sometimes goes back to 3 lbs. or so instead of zero making you wonder if you got an accurate weight. I called the company and they sent me a new one but this one has the same problem.

Answer:	Yes, it does look like that photo. I had to do minimal assemble, comes in 3 pieces, screw base to long section and long section comes in two parts that slide together. It is 'battery operated' but right next to the item on Amazon is an option to purchase (SEPARATELY) a wall plug adapter and we did that, which to me, should be included with this fairly expensive scale. it is a nice scale and works very well, seems to be very accurate in the short time we have owned it.

Answer:	One of ours rests on flat berber exam carpet and is fine. Wouldn't recommend on any other non-hard surface.
