Answer:	I would connect it and move it around while someone watches signal strength on tv before mounting. Sometimes different building materials can affect it.

The power insert has a surge/short detection so if you connect a cable to the power insert that has a short, or if there is a splitter on that line that is not a LAVA splitter, the light on the power insert will flash once, or turn off.

You can disconnect the power insert from everything completely, then only connect it to power, and the light should come back on if there is nothing connected to it.

Question:	Can you mount it say on a flat surface, like a fence
Answer:	Yes, it can be mounted on a vertical surface. You will need to supply your own hardware. If you are looking to attach it to an existing metal fence pole, most of them are 3" in diameter. The u-bolt supplied is not wide enough. You can buy a 3" pipe clamp/strap from the local hardware store for less that $2 that will work. That is how I have mine mounted.

Answer:	this comes with a noise filter and "amplifier" that is usb/AC powered. I had this and a Leaf stly antenna and found the un-amplified Leaf to be MUCH better. 31 channels vs. only 17!

I bought the 50 mile amplifier antenna and it did not perform the way I'd hoped it would but I think that the reason for that is that most of our towers are 50 + miles from us. I still get about 8 channels that are clear but they are not channels that we often watch. My sister-in-law bought one of these but she lives in the middle of St. Louis, Missouri and she is VERY happy with hers and I she says that she is within 6 miles or less of several towers.

The power insert has a surge/short detection so if you connect a cable to the power insert that has a short, or if there is a splitter on that line that is not a LAVA splitter, the light on the power insert will flash once, or turn off.

You can disconnect the power insert from everything completely, then only connect it to power, and the light should come back on if there is nothing connected to it.

Answer:	There is a usb dongle that plugs into the back of the satellite box and the antenna cable screws into it. However the last thing that satellite providers want is you receiving free tv and not all boxes support this connection.

Answer:	You don't have to have line of sight to towers. The antenna has a radius of 100 miles. one thing to take into consideration is your TV tuner. Some are better than others. I have a smart TV and it doesn't work as well as the other TV's I have. Also depends on how many TV's you have on the antenna. I would try to limit them to no more than 2 or three at most.
