That was the direction I needed to point the antenna to pick up the best signals. It works awesome!

Answer:	There are no mounting holes. Two-sided adhesive strips with velcro on a wall or window works best. Check the reception before attaching.

Answer:	Yes, it can be used without the amp being plugged into a usb or outlet. Mine works fine without using the amp because I live in the cities. I would not know the range though. But, if one lives outside the city, the amp will help bring in better reception.

Answer:	Indoor antennas - I am an expert. lol. 2 years ago gave up Directv and started a long process to find an acceptable indoor antenna. Last month I ordered my 5th. A refurbished Wingard FY-55YR It has a 50 mile range and would cost 3 times for a new version of it. All local channels come in consistently strong. Actually pick up around 8 new channels. Overall I get about 35 channels. I live about 45 miles from Portland Oregon, so the 50 mile range appears accurate.Broadcast channels plus Netflix, Hula and Amazon Prime give me more options than I could ever take advantage of. And my Roku makes navigating the streamer so easy. Bottom line I now save about $75 a month from my old Directv.

Buildings, trees, mountains, and cell phone towers can interfere. I use this antenna in my bedroom and receive ABC fine. I use another in my den, 12 feet away, and cannot pick up ABC. I use the amplifiers at full strength. There is no good indoor omnidirectional indoor antenna. The best antenna is an attic mounted, omnidirectional ( all directions), saucer shaped, short mast mounted antenna. You can use a splitter for 2 rooms. Here in the Houston Texas area, the land is flat. ABC 13 is in a slightly different direction from the others. Be aware that most antennas are advertised with a very exaggerated estimate of the reception range because the included amplifiers are too weak.
