I also get stations from Rochester, Utica and Watertown with this antenna. What I can't address is the effect of being situated in a heavily treed area. My advice would be to get the antenna and the separate mounting pole and test it at your house. If it doesn't work, return it.

Rotor works fine for me. I think it does have a duty cycle; fiddled with it excessively when setting up and it stopped working for a few moments.
