Answer:	Sounds like that battery was defective when you received it. I did not experience that problem. The battery can be changed. The battery in my watch is Sony hg 0% SR626SW made in Japan. Be patient to unscrew the back, carefully remove inner white ring (it is delicate), then gently remove battery (it's tiny), place everything back and your done. I actually took it to a watch shop and had it changed, because I happened to be in the mall and didn't feel like doing it myself. It was like $8, I paid for convenience.
