Automatic Watches
Automatic watches do not operate on batteries. Automatic watches are made up of about 130 or more parts that work together to tell time. Automatic movements mark the passage of time by a series of gear mechanisms, and are wound by the movement of your wrist as you wear it. The gear train then transmits the power to the escapement, which distributes the impulses, turning the balance wheel. The balance wheel is the time regulating organ of a mechanical watch, which vibrates on a spiral hairspring. Lengthening or shortening the balance spring makes the balance wheel go faster or slower to advance or retard the watch. The travel of the balance wheel from one extreme to the other and back again is called oscillation. Lastly, automatic movements come in different types, including movements that are Swiss-made, Japanese-made, and more.
Also referred to as self-winding, watches with automatic movements utilize kinetic energy, the swinging of your arm, to provide energy to an oscillating rotor to keep the watch ticking. They're considered more satisfying to watch collectors (horologists) because of the engineering artistry that goes into the hundreds of parts that make up the movement. If you do not wear an automatic watch consistently (for about 8 to 12 hours a day), you can keep the watch powered with a watch winder (a great gift for collectors).

User questions & answers
Question: | Is there any metal band, with traditional links, that fits this watch properly? I've looked in almost every way I can think of online, save for this |
Answer: | The Invicta company that made your watch started in 1991 after a group purchased the rights from an old Swiss company of the same name. I am not sure when the pro diver was introduced but, have seen you tube reviews on this watch as far back as 2010. They are great watches in automatic or quartz and can go over a decade without service minus the batteries in the quartz which last about 30 months. |
Question: | Is there any way I can purchase more than 3? I need 7 for groomsmen gifts for my wedding |
Answer: | En la tarjetica amarilla que trae el reloj te dice los pasos de donde debes mandarlo pero creo que la misma invicta tiene un costo por la garantía chequea la tarjetica y ve a la página de ellos |
Question: | Is it real invicta |
Answer: | Then don't buy or smell it. |
Question: | Is this watch a push pull crown or is it a screw down crown |
Answer: | Any analog watch not advertised explicitly as a Perpetual Calendar watch that has the day of the month on its display in any form will have to be adjusted for months that don't have 31 days to remain correctly set with respect to what day of the month it is. Bear in mind, however, that you ONLY have to do this 5 times in any year, on the first days of the months of March, May, July, October, and December. That's only slightly more than twice as often as you have to adjust your watch for the counterproductive idiocy that is DST. I have a day/date watch and it takes me literally about 3 to 5 seconds to do this task. I have now spent several years' worth of adjusting the date on my watch explaining this, just to give you an idea how long it DOESN'T take to adjust it. I've tried perpetual calendar watches, BTW... the complexity and extra cost make the adjustable kind preferable, IMHO. Perpetuals are not worth the expense. If you want to save $$$s, and you can't spend the... half a minute each year correcting the date, my recommendation is lay out the CASH to buy an expensive, complex, difficult to set, (comparatively) perpetual calendar watch, OR... just buy a nice, cheap digital one. But in answer to your question, yeah, this watch appears to require the 5x/year date adjustment. If it were perpetual, it would likely cost a hundred or more additional dollars to do what otherwise amounts to the same thing. |

With a bold design, this Invicta chronograph has a poised and calm ambience that’s sure to have you looking twice.
Classic styling and high performance add up to an outstanding sport watch for your land or sea adventures. This automatic watch, from Invicta's Pro Diver series, places a large round stainless steel case on a robust triple link steel bracelet. The black dial is designed for quick and easy read-off, even in low light conditions. It offers three-hand function with Tritnite-coated luminous hands and hour markers and a magnified date display at the three o'clock mark. The dial is capped with a resilient mineral crystal and framed by a black unidirectional rotating steel bezel with coin edge detailing. This watch is driven by Japanese automatic movement, which is visible through the see-through skeleton case back. It is rated water resistant to a full 660 feet (200 meters).
When this type of watch is removed from your wrist, the movement winds down in 10 to 72 hours, depending on the size of its winding reserve Lastly, automatic movements come in different types, including movements that are Swiss-made, Japanese-made, and more.
Screw Down Crowns: Many Invicta watches are equipped with a screw down crown to help prevent water infiltration. This is most common on our Diver models. In order to adjust the date and/or time on such a watch, you must first unscrew the crown before you can gently pull it out to its first or second click stop position. To do this, simply rotate the crown counterclockwise until it springs open. When you have finished setting the watch, the crown must then be pushed in and screwed back in tightly. Not doing so will cancel the water resistance of the watch and will void all warranties from the manufacturer. Overall, this process should not require a lot of effort or force.

User questions & answers
Question: | Is there a self help on removing two or three links? I have the tools |
Answer: | Search "Invicta Link Removal" on You Tube. There are many videos, some are better than others. Pay attention to the direction of the arrows on the bracelet links. |
Question: | What is the difference between invicta 8926ob pro diver and invicta 17044 pro diver, the second is cheaper, what are other differences |
Answer: | They are pretty much the same watch and both have an Automatic Seiko movement (NH35A). The only difference I have found is the 8926OB face is more similar to the Rolex Submariner, with tabs instead of dots at the 3, 6 and 9 positions. Also, the loupe over the date window is slightly more powerful on the 8926OB, making it easier to read the date. I have both watches and prefer the 8926OB! |
Question: | Can enough links be removed to accommodate a 6.5" (approx.) wrist |
Answer: | Yes. I have a 6.25" wrist, and had to remove all but one link. So for a 6.5" wrist, removing all but 2 should be fine. The respondent above who said the links are graduated in size is mistaken. All the _removable_ links are the same size. |
Question: | What is the difference between 8926OB and 17044 ? Which is the better one |
Answer: | The 8926OB has straight indicese at 6 and 9 while the 17044 has round ones. The band width on the 8926 is 20mm while 18mm on the 17044. The case thickness on the 8926 is 11mm while 14mm on the 17044.17044 is a newer model (jan 2014) and the 8926OB is 2006 (with a new version in 2011). Also, the 17044 lists a "stopwatch" as a special feature. |

Question: | So this watch was $550 ? Or you juzt make up a price why not say it was 1million but today its |
Answer: | Keep in mind "PRIME days" feature drastic reductions in price for many products. But that is normal for Invicta, they inflate their MSRPs 300% or more to make it seem like you got "the deal of your life"... Its kinda lame but the prices here on Amazon really are great compared to at Kohls or a Jewelers shop. I have bought several watches here. |

This is especially true when they display automatic movements. Automatic movements stem from mechanical movements with one key difference: a mechanism automatically winds the timepiece's mainspring as opposed to forcing the wearer to manually wind. This occurs thanks to a weighted rotor that spins on its own axis, continually charging the mainspring. Timepieces with automatic movements are meant to be appreciated for the craftsmanship and complex aesthetic that they provide and are a must-have for any watch enthusiast!
Classically styled with powerful lines and featuring a precise Japanese watch movement, the shock-resistant Invicta Grand Diver men's stainless steel watch is made for serious scuba fanatics with a water resistance rating to 300 meters (nearly 1000 feet). This large, round watch measures 47mm wide (1.85 inches) and 17mm thick (0.67 inches) and it's made from solid surgical grade stainless steel. It also offers a skeleton see-through caseback and molded diving helmet logos on the end pieces connecting the silver stainless steel bracelet band as well as on the screw-down crown. It's topped by a blue unidirectional rotating elapsed time bezel with white markings. The blue dial face is supplemented by Tritnite luminous dotted markers and arrowhead-style hands (with seconds hand). Other features include an anti-reflective crystal with magnifier, date function at 3 o'clock, and diver's buckle with safety clasp.

Answer: | I don't know. It's probably a typo. It in fact does not use batteries. Had to shake it 20 times to start and with regular wear I have never had to worry about it stopping. Being an automatic it will lose time gradually however. I reset mine once every 2 weeks. (Just a heads up) |
Question: | Not that it matters anyway because if the band is too small i'll pay for extra links, but just out of curiosity how long is the bracelet on the watch |
Answer: | According to Invicta website, they state 215mm. Also, what I have done is ordered a extra long nylon premium 22mm navy blue 'ZULU' strap to make the watch look even more sportier. Now I have the option of wearing the metal band or the strap depending on the occasion. |
Question: | How do i manually wind this watch if i wanted to? I have read that it is hackable, but i dont know what it means |
Answer: | Its very easy to wind this watch manually, just take a look on youtube how to wind automatic watch |
Question: | Esse relógio e original ou replica |
Answer: | I sell genuine Invicta, complete with all paperwork. The original box is actually white on the one that I have in stock currently. |

User questions & answers
Question: | does anyone know the wrist sizr |
Answer: | I don't know what size the band is, but a jeweler can resize it for you. |
Question: | My daughter has a small wrist - about 6 inches. Can this watch band be shortened to fit |
Answer: | Yes it can be shortened professionally |
Question: | Where is this watch made |
Answer: | The movement is Swiss Quartz... I think it might be assembled in Japan. Either way it doesn't matter, as the movement is a unit, not like a 21 jewel mechanical. I can say that I have purchased a few of these... And the quality is exceptional for the price! I also collect mechanical Omegas, so I do have a good knowledge of watches, also high end non us market siekos... For what it's worth. |
Question: | has anyone tested it for swimming and showering |
Answer: | I have not had it in the water. I take it off for showers and swimming. Sorry I could not help you. |
