My husband wears the boots, and he says he has noticed that over the years, as he has gained weight, his shoe size has changed from 9.5 to 11W. Aside from that there's no other sizing issues. It's possible you received a pair of boots that should have been pulled during quality control, but some how made it through to retail sale. I'm sure the Amazon retailer will replace them if you return them. It's a pain, but an alternative. My husband mentioned one thing that irritates him with regard to the boots, is that the laces don't last. 2 or 3 months before he needs to replace his boots the laces break.
